JMU is in its 2nd year as a FCS-to-FBS transition program. They played a full FBS schedule last year with a waiver, but was not eligible for any postseason games, per rule. The NCAA has already ruled twice this year that they are also not eligible for postseason games this year, unless there aren't enough 6-6 teams to fill bowls (so no CCG and would have to wait until all 6-6 or better teams are given bowl spots before being selected). JMU is trying to argue that they should be eligible for the NY6 or even their CCG, so they are making yet another appeal to the NCAA. They put together some fancy data showing how cool they are.
