Dungeon,
I am soliciting donations for a good cause. I apologize for the spam.
My partner and I will be rowing 15 miles around the island of Cape May to raise funds for the Desatnik Foundation. We've teamed up for our friends to raise money under the Deal Lake Yacht Club. This is a fictitious name. Deal Lake is a (currently closed due to sewage leak) place where we log lots of miles when the inlet is too rough to go out. We are not part of a Yacht Club but we spend a lot of time on the lake.
Rowing for a Cause: Supporting Spinal Cord Injury Victims
The Deal Lake Yacht Club is hitting the water for a mission that goes beyond the sport—we’re rowing to raise funds for the Desatnik Foundation, dedicated to helping spinal cord injury victims regain mobility and independence.
Our cause is deeply personal. We’re rowing in honor of Sam Jarmer, a lifelong Ocean Grove resident and dedicated lifeguard who suffered a severe spinal cord injury, leaving him paralyzed. Sam’s strength and determination inspire us to push forward—not just in the water, but in our efforts to make a real difference for those facing similar challenges.
Our community has already benefited from the Desatnick Foundation’s generosity, including the donation of beach wheelchairs, which have made Ocean Grove’s shores more accessible to all. Now, we’re stepping up to give back.
Beyond raising funds, we have another goal: to bring the Sam Jarmer Cup home to Ocean Grove! This trophy is awarded to the top fundraising team, and with your support, we can make it happen.
Every stroke we take is for those who can’t. Every dollar raised helps provide crucial resources for spinal cord injury victims. Join us, support us, and help us make waves for this incredible cause.
Donate today and row with us in spirit!
