I was reading a bit about the attack. It sounds like it might have been rushed, resulting in a lesser body count than they had hoped for. I think I remember reading about Italy breaking up major terrorist attack plot a day or two before. I wonder if these attacks were somewhat connected and forced the Paris attack slightly early.

People are dangerous. Guns are inanimate objects without their own will.
A human being is infinitely more dangerous. Without the terrorists do you think those guns would have just randomly shot Parisians on their own? Plus we're also illustrating that when guns are illegal, it doesn't stop gun violence. It just ensures that only criminals have guns because they don't follow the law anyways.

To your point. The problem is not that the left wing still wants an open border to these people, it's that they're blatantly lying about how they want to do it. The D's are claiming that we'll take in 70-100K Syrians and "vet them" while knowing that it's total bullshit to say that every person will be vetted. It's a total lie that they're peddling to get people not to slam the breaks on these people entering the country.
Now, if they simply came out and said "Hey, we're taking them and sure some terrorists may be sprinkled in but we're prepared to accept that risk" then at least it'd be honest. It'd be dangerous and wreckless but it'd be honest.
