Really liking Payton and the athleticism he is bringing to the team. Despite his immature blunder on that Tweet incident, the kid has really stepped up his game. Reminds me of some of that speed and athleticism we were able to land from South Florida a few years ago. This kid was highly recruited and it's easy to see why.
With that said, why isn't Payton returning punts? I don't know much about Blake T, but I see him as a great kid with a solid GPA. Not sure if he is on scholarship or if he was one of the many kids that are prior walk-ons? Is he really the best option we have returning punts? Despite the final score, his muff on that punt really cost us. Instead of driving down to tie it up (with a 2-pt conv), we gave them great field position and it completely deflated the defense. I'm sure he feels really bad, but is it really his fault that our staff feels he is our BEST option?
