Malzahn, 59, quickly shot down several online reports earlier this week that he planned to retire at the end of the season.

“I don’t know where that came from; I’m not retiring,” Malzahn said.
Lol. I told everyone this a few days ago.

lol - dude is not walking away from 12M

Current situation to me is like horse racing . When you go up in class, expect there to be a short term hiccup.

I don't know anyone can ask for his head after only two years in B12. Specially when we're landing like that kid the other day over Michigan and Ohio State. That's all his recruiting. Eventually he'll have all his players.

KJ was a strikeout and I think we learned a important lesson there. Always trade up, not down on project kids. Give me the jucos and the undesirables from the lower leagues and coach them up

Man, I want some of what you're smoking. this isn't it small hiccup, this is a complete free fall. We are poised to have a four win season and I don't see winning more than three games next year. I don't see how we expected this team to get better when more than half of our players will hit the transfer portal, and our recruiting is tanking like a led zeppelin.

I also fully expect grandpaboom to run Rizk off in search of his next Cam Newton.

Also, you're horse racing analogy is horrible. If a horse moves up in class (longer track because horses aren't separated into weight classes) and loses 4 or 5 races in a row especially running in the back of the pack, they move it back down to the track it's comfortable in. So in essence, grandpaboom should go back to coaching HS football.

We're also going to lose:
1) 20 RS Seniors on the 2-deep
2) 5 listed as Seniors on the 2-deep so I don't know if any of them have eligibility left or would even stay (may go into the portal).

This includes 5 of 6 WRs, our current top 3 RBs, although Miles has assumed the role of RB2. Gus went all in on this season and it failed. We're starting from scratch next season but if we can keep Rizk and he progresses as a QB, that could overcome a lot of issues on offense. Defense, well, I don't know how that gets fixed with the current staff because they already can't stop anybody on 3rd and 4th downs.

Just wait until all of the players are from his scouting department. Might only win 3 games.

Firing Gus this year not in the budget. Next year if more of the same would be likely. Gus will probably have to bring in two new coordinators to save face. Bring in Frost at million a year with full control of offense.

If Gus doesn't retire then next season will rival that 0-12 season. The Bounce House will be empty.
Just the thought of it sucks so bad. Taking all of the energy and excitement out of our program. I don't see how anybody gets excited thinking about next season. We have no reason to. Now imagine how the players on the team feel with numerous opportunities elsewhere.

I fully expect gus to go full in on another portal bust, run first QB that pushes Rizsk and Colson into the portal. More regression, more of the same, more of arrogant gus thinking he is smarter than everybody and failing miserably then trying to put it on the coordinators.

I could completly see Gus sh*thing on Rizk and going after Kyron Drones, John Mateer or Malachi Nelson.

And that’s the problem…coaching staff has not been able to coach up anybody.

He may not resign but he's about to get a reality check Friday's game attendance will be pathetic - students gone home and the paying customers uninterested in showing up. F-ing crickets.

Gus blows. Get rid of him right after game is over Friday night. I want his office cleaned out by Saturday morning and a new coach ready to go. Get the interviews ready starting Sunday morning.

He was openly booed in a game and outside at a school event. I would imagine Auburn fans were much harsher, either way he knows those students and fans have already paid his salary for the next few years.

I think if we lose vs. Utah, a wave of intense pressure is going to cascade onto UCF athletics.

The sharks are circling in the water.

If next season is open for 2 deep it's a great time for Gus to focus on recruiting H.S. players and coaching up a good squad.

The transfers experiment in Big 12 was a failure as far as filling your roster is concerned and getting a QB for 1 to 2 seasons. In the end this only demotivates your squad of H.S. recruits who work their butts off to play college football.
