Not playing great but Memphis letting us hang around. Hendricks needs to take over. That’s a broken record. He defers too much.
He’s checked out, not wanting to get injured prior to entering the draft. He reminds me of DG.And Hendricks is nowhere to be seen
As a TEAM, Memphis wanted it more. I’ll leave at that, being a season ticket owner for 10+ years…We win that game if Hendricks makes just a couple more shots and Davis/Williams don’t have the greatest games of their careers. Great game nonetheless and Hendricks will be fine, just an off night and that happens sometimes.
Credit to Memphis’ two stars. I would love to play them next cause odds are they won’t repeat that and have got to be exhausted. Especially Davis with his ankle issue.
This guy fits in really well.Memphis had a 2 man team but those 2 played out of their minds. Our boys played great. Durr had a nice game as did Kelly. The kids competed difference was 2 Memphis guys played in a different stratosphere. With our limitation very proud of their effort and competitiveness.
Return? To UCF? You think he wants to lose 20 games next year?Is 15 ppg carrying a team? Even in NBA that’s a role player. To me, carrying a team is 25ppg. Probably even more. In NBA he’d be lucky to score 8 ppg and not be sent to G League. He needs to return.
Yes return to UCF. He needs to be a top 5 pick or he’s going G League. He’s not a top 5 pick right now. I wouldn’t draft him first round at all. He needs to get better. This guy fits in really well.

Definitely not a PF. He has to be SF. His low post game is not good. He’s also skinny. Will get pushed around by NBA PFs.![]()
2023 NBA Draft: UCF’s Taylor Hendricks is a Prototypical NBA Forward
Central Florida freshman Taylor Hendricks has surprised as a potential one-and-done in the 2023 NBA Draft.www.si.com
This^^^ Head-to-head, Davis and Williams vs Hendricks and Johnson was like watching men playing against boys. The rest of our team (especially Kelly) outplayed their guys. But their stars won the game. As far as first round draft choices, after watching last night's game, it would start with Davis and Williams....We win that game if Hendricks makes just a couple more shots and Davis/Williams don’t have the greatest games of their careers. Houston’s Freshman is projected top 5 and he rarely shits bed in losses. This^^^ Head-to-head, Davis and Williams vs Hendricks and Johnson was like watching men playing against boys. Memphis had a guy last year who averaged about 6–7 points a game got drafted in the second round was projected as late first/ early 2 round, Larry Brown said he had lottery type talent. He end up signing and making the Minnesota Timberwolves and he makes over 2.5 a year. Hard to pass up that money. He was a freshman and entered the draft after his first year. Ironically, he was from the same high school basketball conference as Hendricks in south Florida. Tough to pass up that money, which is life-changing for a lot of these kids.Hendricks is projected to be a first rounder. As far as I see, every first rounder makes at least a million or two guaranteed.
Now if he transfers to another program, that should shut the book on Dawkins, though for most it already has been.
But he is ready for millions of guaranteed money for being a first round draft pick. 1st-rounders are guaranteed their salaries for the first two seasons, and last two years are team options. “Last place” in the 1st round of 2022 got over 11 million. Mid round was around 18 million. He’s got to go. He can be set for life (over 5 million (gross) of seed money) no matter what happens with his future prospects.Hendricks is not ready for the nba. I’m thinking he will want to play a season with his brother (who redshirted) and learn how to take over a game. Kendric Davis was in beast mode last night.
Terry took over many of the contracts including JDs. He still has multiple years left. This is not the new ADs fault. He has his hat with Gus but even that was a hire that needed to be made immediately because of timing.Unless a firing breaks this weekend Terry’s strategy seems to be pay more but lower expectations or don’t have any . he is a bad AD, he doesn’t fit our University
He's going and he played yesterday like he knows he's going. But it is too bad (and disappointing) that he didn't take yesterday as a personal challenge vs. Williams. But he is ready for millions of guaranteed money for being a first round draft pick. 1st-rounders are guaranteed their salaries for the first two seasons, and last two years are team options. “Last place” in the 1st round of 2022 got over 11 million. The latest mock draft (from 3 days ago) on NBA.com (via bleacher report) has him going #11.
His tweet said he was going to lead us on a long run. He was just outmatched. Which will happen in NBA every night. He's going and he played yesterday like he knows he's going. But it is too bad (and disappointing) that he didn't take yesterday as a personal challenge vs. Williams.
You would think being a projected first round, but not winning any major accolades for the conference would drive him to make a statement. His tweet said he was going to lead us on a long run. He was just outmatched. Which will happen in NBA every night.
He’s not a good coach by results. Lack of emotion could be a reason. Most of the great coaches get passionate on sideline. This whole constant complaint about JDs not getting upset and throwing chairs in nonsense. I'm not a big JDs fan but you don't need to yell and scream to be a good coach.
This complaint against JD is getting tiresome.
There is huge gap between Dawkins demeanor and Bobby Knight. He doesn't have to be screaming, but excitement and energy during pivotal moments is infectious. This whole constant complaint about JDs not getting upset and throwing chairs in nonsense. Sasser sat out for Houston. The men’s basketball team looks a lot better after yesterdays Memphis win over Houston We could’ve, had we had production from certain people n would’ve beaten Memphis in this tournament. The effort from Ucf in the tournament looks a lot lot better after the Memphis win yesterday.
Hendricks is acting way too passive this season. In my humble opinion, it's Johnny and the coaching. Just saying. Somebody needs to tell him to GO TO THE HOOP AGGRESSIVELY! Turn into a monster! Not playing great but Memphis letting us hang around. Hendricks needs to take over. That’s a broken record. He defers too much.

No need, taking L's and finishing 6th or worse in the conference is mission accomplished.JD needs to throw some chairs at him![]()
My saying to Johnny, "THROW A CHAIR OR SOMETHING"!JD needs to throw some chairs at him![]()
