Gus Malzone is worthless at this point. He’s done. He won’t be able to attract recruits, transfers or coaches.
Gus Malzone needs to be fired. $12M is nothing if you want to play big boy football.
People say Heupel sucked but he went 28-8 here. Gus is 24-16. 4 less wins but 8 more losses.
Nevermind that without his recruits Malzahn wouldn't even get 24 wins. Heupel's recruits constantly beat out Malzahn's booms.
But people say cupboard was bare. It helped him win more his first year and then the avalanche started.
Genius Malzahn took over a program that averaged about 4 losses/yr (for the last 20 years or so), and turned it into a program that averages 5 losses.
Averaging 4 losses a year in the AAC is not the same as averaging 5 losses a year in the Big 12. P4 versus G6, yeah it's a real thing.
So essentially, what you and others are saying, arguing that the P4 is so much harder, is that we shouldn't claim the national championship. And if you do your idiots, kind if like Alabama fans and Finebaum have said all along.
It's also kinda a real thing that he's gotten better recruits while in the Big12.
That argument is getting tired.
When a loss is against Cincinnati, its exactly the same thing.
Gus has gone 13-7 against teams that were in the AAC in 2021 when Gus was hired. He's gone 8-0 in out of conference gimme games. 2-0 against Boise State, and 5-15 against teams that were in what was the P5 + BYU. Is that acceptable to you?

Heupel followed Frost so every loss was the worst thing ever. If Malzahn was after Frost, every one would lose their minds.
Heupel only lost 1 game by more than one score, and that was against BYU with their first round QB.
Malzahn has had 7 losses by 17 or more points with most coming against teams from AAC.

Don’t put words in my mouth. Essentially? Wtf does that mean? UCF’s Natty was earned, they beat the only team that beat the two teams in the invitational, and were the only undefeated FBS team, and were confirmed via the Colley Matrix. I’m saying there is a BIG difference in depth and overall talent between P4 and G6. That is a fact, you may not like it but you cannot refute it.

No it’s not. I’m over Gus, I have season tickets and get front row seats to the stupidity at all home games. Some of you people draw conclusions based upon a statement that “essentially” points out that P4 talent/depth is superior to G6. That has nothing to do with whether Malzahn is currently a good or even average coach.
