Yesterday he stretched a single into a double and scored the winning run. 2nd game where he played a major role in the win.

or maybe they are starting early this year OOC too. lost a weekend series to Georgia Southern
GS hosted a regional last year and brought back damn near everyone. Don’t get caught up in the football aspect and act like GS is trash, b/c they aren’t. D1 Baseball has way more than your traditional “P5” football brands.

Not worried about losing the series, but I am worried about the pitching. It has not been good the whole season. Will be tough to outslug people for the entire season.

This is like one of those “tell me you don’t know about CBB without telling me you don’t know about CBB” type things.
I know enough that teams line up their best pitching on the weekends. So losing a weekend series is a bigger sign vs losing a quick 2 game series on a Tuesday

But go ahead with being condescending

Georgia Southern may be a good team, but giving up 30 runs in two games to anyone in the nation is not a good sign. UCF is ranked 139th with a 5.66 team era. When Stetson hosted a regional in 2018, their team era was 2.66.

Are we giving up a lot of unearned runs? Giving up 15 but ERA is only at 5. Either the ERA was a lot lower before series or a lot of errors happened.

2 errors total in the 2 losses in which we gave up 30 runs in between the two games. So not really. 7 runs total in the 4 games against hapless Siena and Bethune Cookman has helped.

I’m used to pitching being a question mark - but usually deep into the season due to injuries…hoping this sorts itself out soon.

I feel like softball is in a similar situation tbh.

The softball team is just really young and has been run through a gauntlet of really good teams this year. This is going to be a learning year for them. They might do better in conference play, but those freshmen and sophomores will have to step it up.

You are right about pitching though. They aren’t dominating.

To win it all you need at least 1 dominant pitcher and some girls that hit home runs. Right now if we play a good team as soon as we give up 3 runs the game is over.
