Positives:

All three units performed well. UCF played its most compete game and hopefully came together as a team.

The run defense in particular was respectable/acceptable with the return of Ricky Barber and Walter Yates III.

Great game plan and play calling start to finish (almost).

The defense as a whole was protected well by the offensive play calling to run clock, play keep away, and maintain a manageable low scoring game.

JRP/UCF made zero turnovers.

Patchwork OL play improved significantly.

UCF committed only seven 'road game' penalties--a sign of a well-coached team.

The remainder of the schedule isn't as daunting as it has been.

Dillion Gabriel did nothing memorable.

Negatives:

UCF isn't where it needs to be depth-wise defensively (as evident by Chokelahoma running through the Knights at will on its final scoring drive).

Malachi Lawrence got hurt. Not certain about other injuries.

JRP is/was clearly not 100%.

Hudson Gibbs has appeared in more games than defensive transfers (Fred Davis, KD Mitchell, and Isaiah Paul).

Demarkcus Bowman is MIA.

That's all I can think of.

Dillon Gabriel won the game and that is memorable and all that matters. The game is a classic example of a letdown game.

Oklahoma had huge win on a last minute drive over Texas (their biggest rival) and then comes 3-3 UCF…winless in the conference.

1-5 Virginia just beat 6-0 & 10th ranked NC at NC. Another example of a letdown game…only difference is that UCF lost and Virginia won.

UCF was not helped by Malzahn calling a stupid trick play on the game tying 2 point try.

UCF is one of six P5 teams without a P5 win.
UCF squeaked a 18-16 last minute win (did not even score a TD the entire game) against a TRASH Boise State team.

Boise State, Kent State and Villanova account for UCF’s three wins. Boise is 3-4, Kent State is 1-7 and FCS Villanova is 4-2.

So what are you flexing on you FRAUD?

Punting was not the best. Need to flip the field and not give the other team a short field. If OU would of had a stud FG kicker and not miss 2 FG's we have a different game.

No. 1, Dillion Gabriel did not have a "Heisman moment" against UCF unless you consider a wide receiver screen to a former walk-on for the game-clinching score to be Heisman worthy. I certainly don't see Chucky putting Gabriel higher on any draft boards as a result of the UCF game.

No. 2, Chokelahoma was coming off an off week. Was the off week that big of an opponent?

No. 3, North Carolina didn't have a letdown. It didn't beat anybody of any significance to have a letdown. The team NC played was winless in the ACC having just been beaten by a 2-3 Georgia Tech team.

No. 4, If anything affected Chokelahoma, it was the noon kickoff time.

The biggest thing that stood out to me was not turning the ball over, I'll give the offense/JRP praise for that especially on the road. One turnover and it could have been a two score game. Glad to see the defense has some ability to force turnovers as well, last year we couldn't get anything.

Of course I do. I also call out the crap in my program when I see it. Question…how long are you people going to try and flex over a LOSS?

Zero wins of any significance and the Malzon shill is flexing on a loss.

UCF players for the most part played a flawless game, no big mistakes (aside from bad punts). Oklahoma made multiple mistakes, missed FGs, Personal Foul after goal line stop, INT.

If they can play like that again against West Virginia they will win, but the question is can they repeat the performance and win the turnover battle (UCF was -6 in turnovers in the other 5 FBS games)

As some pointed out before, Malzahn always seemed to have his Auburn teams pull out some big performance in a tough game. Only to lose a few others in the season and end up with with 4-5 losses on the season. Maybe he spends more time game planning for specific games.

Nice write up Auburn!

This is an informed opinion. Malzahn has a long history of having his team surprise somebody only to lay an egg in a game his team should win.

UCF was ranked #20 and playing at home…scored 14 points and lost to 3-7 Navy.

Now you are here trying to elevate yourself by bringing others down. I know that is all the flex that Miami has... until the next recruiting cycle.

People are not flexing about a loss IMHO as we are over moral victories. This is not 1997 when we lead #6 Nebraska with a 5 star QB and 1AA recruits until mid-4th quarter. I think people are excited to see the improvement made from the Kansas game to the Oklahoma game. We had QB1 back in JRP, had our top DL player back Ricky Barber from injury, had a starting LB back from injury in Yates and made some player changes on defense and saw a lot of improvement. I am sure Oklahoma did not take us lightly as Lebby would of loved to run up the score as well as Gabriel.

For a Miami fan you seem to care a great deal about UCF and get really worked up about these things. This is classic behavior for someone who feels threatened...hmmmm....

UF, FSU and Miami see how UCF is now recruiting with the P5 tag and we are now starting to become competion for recruits in their eyes. Reality is there are plenty of recruits in Florida to go around. UF claims they did not recruit one player on our roster which is bogus. They wanted DL John Walker and DL Derrick LaBlanc badly
