QB Commit for 2019 Transfers HS

Dean, a UCF commit, said he made the move about two weeks ago.

"I want to get to UCF as soon as I can, and I couldn't graduate early at Tampa Catholic," Dean said.

The rising senior is the second area quarterback to join the Panthers this offseason.

Earlier this month, East Lake quarterback Tucker Gleason transferred to Plant. Gleason, a rising junior, can also play receiver and had 14 catches for 158 yards with the Eagles last season.

The Panthers had a vacancy at quarterback with Jordan McCloud, who transferred from Sickles last season, graduating. McCloud, the younger brother of former Gryphons and Clemson standout Ray-Ray McCloud, led Plant to the Class 8A state semifinals and has already signed with USF.

Now there is a logjam at the position.

There are five holdovers at quarterback listed on the Panthers' roster: Jude May, Graham McDermott, Michael Jaksec, Sam Sharf and Gabe Weldon.

May, who transferred from Land O'Lakes last season, McDermott and Sharf all saw limited playing time behind McCloud. McDermott led the remaining quarterbacks in yards (81) and touchdowns (two).

Whoever emerges as the starter will have a loaded lineup around him. Plant returns three of its top four leading rushers (Walter Wilbon, Christian Carvajal and Leonard Parker), its leading receiving (Frank Murphy) and has a four-star recruit to anchor the offensive line (Will Putnam).

True or false, he wasn’t good enough to start on his other high school team?

Totally false.

Dean was the starter at Tampa Catholic, private school who plays in 3A and went 7-4 last year.

Tampa Plant is a power program in 7A, who went 12-2 last year who’s Senior QB signed with the cows back in Dec.

Dean will have more talented teammates and will face better competition most weeks in 7A so this is a great move on his part.

Great job beating out Northern Iowa and Western Kentucky for this guy, not sure how you pulled it off.

Oh look, our not so favorite Heifer troll. He is the one NOT at Heifer games along with the rest of them. Funny how you support your failure of a team. Troll us and don't go to Heifer games.

Great job at filling your empty trophy case this year.
Oh.... wait. Better ask Northern Iowa and Western Kentucky how to obtain them. They both have a few.

Poor little Owen has to come back here every so often for his beat down, so he can feel like a human... er like a Heifer again.

I think that's a commit that you won't want or let sign when the time comes.

The other Heifer troll shows up! How is your empty stadium doing? You should be trying to rustle up ticket sales instead of trolling here.
