He’s really a receiver. Too small to be a TE. He needs to add weight. Imagine if he was bigger and he could run block and use play action with him.
The cupboard is looking bare. I think we may be in for another season of missing a bowl game before Frost starts to turn things around. Hope I'm wrong.
He was just in an uninventive system for his skill set. You are right, maybe not the ideal size for a traditional TE. But he should have been used way more than he was in goal line situations, flexed out on safeties/nickel corners, mesh routes across the middle.
He will get a bag somewhere else.
All players test "free agent" waters in the new world of 1 year deals. It's semi pro football now.

This one stings, but this is college football today. Players are just chasing money from one spot to the next. Pittman became marketable after having a good season so now he's off to the highest bidder. Makes it really hard as fans to be invested in the team.
I don't remember a UCF team that had less talent returning than this one. Frost has a serious uphill climb in front of him.

That's college sports. Soon schools will have 2-3 year deals with buyouts for players until than its the wild west for everyone.
Akins, Micheal Gaines both had/have better than average length NFL careers, 2 other UCF TEs had years on practice squads which is a pretty good salary by the way.

So you actually define flexing as 'being so incompetent as a HC You run away before you get fired and players leave because of a coaching change." I'm guessing you also think Gus is flexing because UNC, W Virginia etc players have entered the portal? You can continue to suck those cling-ons but I doubt many really care that Gus left.
