Recruiting Update Thread

We still in the running to flip the UF WR commit?

Steven Leonard still has a Crystal Ball to UCF for him that is all I’m seeing on that guy (Patterson). A lot of smoke around us flipping Goldie Lawrence though, he will be at the game tonight along with all our local commits.

didn’t Walker say he wasn’t taking visits?

he is in Gainesville today …..🥶
Would love to have him, could be a generational talent here. Fine too if he goes somewhere else like UF as just another 4*

A shame that kind of thing is lost on most 18 year olds.....

If he would be a generational talent here, he would be anywhere. He may be better off here if hes marginal but thats not why we want him.

I've noticed that players that stick with their first decision do better than those that flip.

UF already has 5 DTs committed in 2023.

4 of them are 6'5'' or taller, Walker is 6'3''.

His likelihood of getting on the field as a freshman/sophomore drops dramatically if he flips.

At UCF he will play in every game from day 1.

Was thinking the same thing but was just too lazy to look it up. Also after Isaiah Nixon flipped the gators got a few more edge rushers to commit, they are stacked on the DL for this recruiting period. I think Walker wants to go to some free games with his buddies.

He has a chance to plug the middle with Lee Hunter if he keeps his commitment

still not good if he goes to Gainesville 2 Saturdays in a row

also I am starting to think these week night games are bad for recruiting, he can only come bc his HS as a bye week but you can have much larger numbers of unofficial visitors for Saturday games . Also not to mention that the full campus tailgating experience is much more complete on Saturdays. He hasn’t got to see UCF on a traditional Saturday while Uf has a Saturday night game for the 2nd week in a row

True, but I don't think its a deciding factor. If that was the deciding factor for recruits, then they aren't thinking clearly.

I don't think Walker will flip. From watching his commitment stream, he seems like an genuine and loyal kind of man.

It mostly seems like Walker and Jackson(UF commit) are just taking their friends to their respective future schools every week.

Fair. It's tough decisions for them.

They have so much potential, literally millions of dollars, maybe tens of millions on the line, and sometimes don't have the best guidance, or the best experiences to make such decisions as young adults.

And sometimes they don't have the best upbringing and come from really rough neighborhoods.

I just think they need some extra support as they navigate their future.

was Walker the commit whose girlfriend is going to attend UCF? root for that relationship to stay strong [laughing]
Idk about him but it was mentioned in an interview as to why one of the Harris twins stated they liked the idea of staying home and going to UCF. Whatever works…
