Recruiting Update Thread

I don't really have any opinions on Musk's politics, but since he took over Twitter, he's talked ad nauseum about programming and web development.
I happen to know a lot about programming and web development, since it's my job to, and the things that Elon has suggested are some of the dumbest things I've ever heard.
What's really dumb is some guy on a message board calling the richest man in the world dumb. Let's see...Tesla, SpaceX, Gigafactories, the Boring Company, and more. You can't do that without surrounding yourself with great people. My guess is his team knows a hell of a lot more about programming and web development than you think. He just likes to piss people like you off....

If I had wanted to just say that Elon Musk was dumb, I assure you I would have just said that. What I said was that his suggestions about web development and web programming are dumb, because they are. It's a thing that he knows nothing about, and every time he opens his mouth about it, he reveals that again and again.

Also, while I cannot speak to what the internal mechanisms of working at Twitter under musk are like, I know multiple people who work or have worked for SpaceX and or Tesla, and all of them think Elon Musk is a giant jackass whose only utility was being rich.

And I don't even necessarily think that's entirely fair to Elon musk. I think he's actually quite Adept at branding and marketing; I just also think that he's a hot headed baby, who's easy to bait into a fight and or into doubling down when he should admit defeat and fold. It's how he ended up buying Twitter for 30 times what it was actually worth, and then had to whine like a little b**** when he couldn't get out of the deal he'd already signed to.

Frankly, Scarlet, I don't give a damn!

Malzahn keeps saying-----with supreme confidence-----in interviews stuff along the lines of "we're about to blow the top off this thing" and such when it comes to recruiting. He was saying it not referring just to future classes, but THIS class.

Maybe so, but we're still about to see the 3rd consecutive year of UCF's best ever rated recruiting class, and this one by far. BUT! We have to see the results on the field and on the scoreboard. Otherwise, UCF is just another Texas or Texas A&M of the last several years: great recruiting classes; mediocre of not downright crap product on the field.

Malzahn can definitely sell but I am wondering how many others could too w the Conference change.

UCF’s campus and setup always gets very high praise from recruits, now the G5 stigma is gone

I'm kind of afraid of the stigma being removed tbh, it's been such a motivation for us.

Damn. I thought we were supposed to be getting multiple 'Booms' between yesterday and today. Just the Farmer flip yesterday. Been kind of anti-climatic.

Yes, that was. That's not the point. But, that there was all this build up suggesting there were going to be multiple.

This has happened before, it sucks. I think we are on boom watch for the top O lineman from Tampa and the decommit from Georgia. Those look like a good probability this month

If we were to get a commit tonight I would think that would put us in 1st place in the BIG XII.

7 4 stars commits for 2024 already. Compared to 3 in 2023 (though you could make the argument to classify some transfers as 4 stars).

And we aren't even done!! On pace for a top 20-25 recruiting class!!!

Hope Stacy gage stays too. Talk about a 1-2 punch

I wonder how we found him. Didn’t think we’d be going to Big 12 country in Texas with all the competition. I know the big Texas teams didn’t offer but still beat out Baylor and Houston (and SMU) for him

RB coach Kam Martin is a Texas guy.
