Remember when GOL sold our alternate helmets for playing poorly in one game?

We already had these and would be ready for next year. How long does it take to make uniforms?

How long does it take to spray paint a helmet and get a child in another country to sew a short and pants? The real question is how long it takes to get the Citronaut as the main mascot and get rid of train face--or at least be the fighting train faces.

Oh what a KNIGHT!

First ever conf game between UCF & USF.

First ever football win vs USF.

Win helped secure UCF's first place in AAC standings heading into final weekend.

Win helped UCF earn their BCS Fiesta Bowl Bid which UCF obviously won.

Helmets sold out in minutes to UCF GKC Members.

Weird topic to bring up on a Sunday in January but those whining about those "historic' helmets obviously weren't one of the lucky ones to get them.

I mostly agree. I thought it was a GREAT KNIGHT! The helmets weren't the reason that we were sluggish. I'm just wondering if our new helmets will be ready for the fall. Didn't make a lot of sense to spend money on these great looking helmets only to sell one version after 1 game and the other version having never been used. Odd.

Storm Johnson's hands were the reason we were sluggish. Didn't he get it punched out by one of our o-linemen that game?

Black tops to make that a true black out would've been a great look. I can still see that pump and go TD pass from Blake to Breshad in my mind's eye like it happened yesterday. One of my favorite plays I've seen live in any sport.

Here are highlights from that 2013 win over USF.

Yes, Storm did lose 2 fumbles on UCF's first 2 drives of the game (including 1 deep in USF territory), as those were 2 of the 5 turnovers by UCF that day (Bortles had 2 INTs and 1 fumble).

Bortles to Perriman highlight is around the 4 min mark

That is what I'll take away from the good GOL years. An extremely physical defense and a serious run game. The fact that Bortles turned out to be an amazing QB (and a recieving core that will probably never be matched at UCF ) is what put them in the BCS game.

Those helmets were ridiculously ugly. I recall GOL saying he let the players pick the jersey color. Maybe that was just urban legend? Whoever was involved at UCF and Riddell obviously were color blind. I can't for the life of me understand why the gold on the helmets and jerseys couldn't be matched (or be like a 99% match). If we want alternate helmets just flip the white and black, including the shading on our stacked logo and the facemask. That maintains our brand. I could care less what they do with the rest of the uniform.

That game was suppose to be a black out and GOL made them wear gold. Things that use to drive me nuts.

Riddell? Aren't our jerseys Nike?

Agreed. They could have gotten a better paint match at Home Depot or Lowes.
