That was the greatest monologue ever. Not a person in that audience wasn't uncomfortable.
Let's see how many jobs he gets going forward from that roasting. That was awesome, and it took some balls.
Best part was calling out the sheer hypocrisy of these people acting like moral orbiters while working with companies that tow the line in China.
Everybody enjoys seeing influential people getting called out for their hypocrisy when it comes from one of their own who breaks ranks.Freaking hilarious! Some of these Hollywood types need a good roasting from time to time.

Those Hollywood libs were OWNED by... wait a second this can't be right... They were owned by liberal ideas?
The truth is, most in that room probably agreed with Gervais. I'm surprised most of you do. It's like you are so focused on the libs getting owned and not paying attention you accidentally agreed with democrats.
Interesting take. So are you saying that things like being friends with Epstein or looking the other way on apple is conservative? Those Hollywood libs were OWNED by... wait a second this can't be right... They were owned by liberal ideas?

To me it didnt seem like it was particularly political, it was pointing out the hypocrisy of preaching social justice but doing the opposite.
He does have a point, I just dont know that you can draw a politically ideological line and say he was taking a liberal position. Is a conservative more likely to align with Apple and Amazon? Doesn't really seem like it but it doesn't seem like a liberal would either. Gervais basically said the same things that conservatives have been saying about Hollywood for years, but that doesn't mean it was strictly a conservative POV driving it.Shook is just upset that 75% of the DNC donor base was ridiculed on national TV.
Hasn't he shit on these people before? Not to this degree but I remember him causing a stir previously yet he got booked again.
They probably all agreed
Imagine the type of delusion and internal spin machine required to somehow take this monologue and view it as a victory for Democrats, when the room was 99.9% major Democratic donors.
He's calling out companies and corporate greed, calling for those in the audience to put their money where there mouth is, but that's a flawed argument. The audience is made up of employees. Famous employees but employees none the less. Many of them wouldn't even see the 2% Warren tax because they aren't rich enough.Interesting take. I’m certain Ricky Gervais understand far more about the people in Hollywood than we doThat guy is annoying, never was funny. Does he not realize that people in Hollywood make money on creating fantasy?

Seemed to me like he was calling out people who preach against the wealthy but then support them for their own interests. Gervais just singled them out instead of making blanket statements. They probably all agreed

If they don't work for Apple someone else will. The problem isn't the workers or the companies in my opinion but sure he owned the libs I guess
