If Navy is ranked, we should be, after all USF beat them and is 10-2 vs Navy at 9-2.

Respect. I just don't see how USF isn't ranked at least #25. Only losses are to Top 15 FSU and a solid Temple on the road while USF beat Navy whose best win was against Houston which happened to have 3 losses to teams USF beat... I'd be saying the same if UCF was in the same situation.

This is going to be the norm for post realignment AAC. You will dinged for "level of competition". I think this is only going to get worse.

I do think, however, we can change perceptions of that because our league would curb stomp any other G5 conference as a whole. Sprinkle in key victories against P5 (just look @ Houston) and sustain that (now that realignment is dead for awhile) and it will change.

While I'm glad USF isn't ranked in the CFP poll or playing for a conference title, obviously they should be ranked in the CFP poll somewhere between 20-25 based on their body of work. Temple should be ranked around the same as USF and Navy as well. Those 3 are essentially interchangeable and clearly the 3 best in the conference.

Lots of living in the past (and a mediocre past, at that) going on in this thread. But I guess if my team was being owned academically and athletically by my rival I would probably cling to the past too (well, we have more class than that, so I probably wouldn't actually).

And before you guys recycle the same garbage about conference championships, trophies, blah blah blah and other stuff about the past again, just remember this. In recent history that is ACTUALLY relevant, you guys haven't beaten a team with a winning record in two calendar years and have lost to USF by a combined 92-34 during that same time frame. Not to mention losses to Furman, FIU, and Tulane and a (third) 0-12 season to boot.

Get with recent times, stop clinging to your bowl game victory where the other team didn't give two sh*ts about being there, and start to realize how inferior you really are.

It just eats him alive that we have done more with our oprotunities than the UWCF cows have. You can feel it in the way he whines about how proud we are.

Bottom line is this, when that North Tampa and directionally challenged school finally equals our major accomplishments in football THEN they can brag about the head to head record. By the time they get even remotely close we will probably be ahead in that category too so it'll be a wash in any case......

You are quoting a response to a post by a USF fan talking about not living and the past and how we should only care about the recent present (as if UCF's conference title 2 years ago and Fiesta Bowl win 3 years ago are ancient history). He is the one that put the stipulations of what timeframe is relevant. It would be hypocritical to cite 6-2 over an over with wins dating back to 2005 but not acknowledge UCF's all around success with conference championships and BCS bowl victory during that same time-span.

Look, this is so simple. USF fans can only brag about one thing. their head to head record against UCF. That is the one thing they have so they talk about it here over and over. The articles about Willie Taggart all talk about how he has brought them out of the dump to having a winning year. They have been irrelevant for so long that they can't even bring up 2007 with a straight face anymore. But they did beat UCF 6 times out of 8 so they come here.

They don't like to talk about UCF accomplishments because it makes them mad and uncomfortable. They are deeply insecure and are jealous of our championships, rankings, BCS title, academic accomplishments of our athletes, on campus stadium and pre-game atmosphere. So they downplay those because they have nothing to counter with. If they had some other achievement they would certainly bring that forward, but they don't. Certainly nothing in this decade. They can deny all they want but the facts are the facts.
