San Fran proposes to eliminate free employee cafeterias

lol how would that even be legal? the company could just start charging its employees $0.01 per meal and could get around it.

They could refuse cafeteria space inside existing office structures by restricting it to a single use facility. These businesses have to get permits to be able to operate a kitchen on property.

You’d then have an issue with hotels and convention and event facilities.

It depends on what classification of commercial building they are. Most municipalities have at least four or five categories (hotel/motel,food service, retail, light manufacturing/sales, office, etc).

We all make mistakes, like when you argued that Trump was mentally and emotionally unfit for the office of President. That was a mistake right. I wasn't here for the 2016 election but that had me in tears bro.

I've stated many times that I wasn't, and am not, a full fledged fan of his. I stake out many of my positions here simply because the utter insanity and lunacy from the left has pushed me from a never-Trumper into someone who wants to defend his policies. Which I have.

I actually voted for the absolute dolt known as Gary Johnson in protest. However I'd pull the lever for Trump if the vote was held today.

Just look at your D buddies. After 1.5 years of acting out like children and obsessing over Trump, they're now a party that is on the way to endorsing abolishing ICE and adopting socialism as a party platform. They're running to the far left as fast as they can.

So you now believe that Trump is mentally and emotionally fit to be president? The past 18 months has shown you that?

SIAP.

Too funny!!!

Just when you think leftist want everything, here comes along the loonies in SF trying to eliminate an employee benefit to many in the tech and or other fields.

I love how this only applies to new companies, not google, twitter, etc. etc.

Doesn't that make it tough for new companies to compete for employees when you allow the old companies to extend benefits that the new companies are not allowed to match? Democrats are so dumb sometimes.

I also love how you all are getting yo titties all bunched up over something that hasn't even been discussed by lawmakers. They just brought up the legislation. Jeeeez.

I have friends in San Fran lauding this. No, I'm not kidding. I'm talking good colleagues I normally respect, except for when it comes to this.

As I always say, "Why does it have to be a law? Why can't corporations and people choose? Why does the state have to tell everyone what to do?"

A third agreed with me, after a pointed it out, and recognized I am a true Libertarian voice.

A third disagreed with me, and said they still trust the state more than corporations and people.

A third called me a Trump supporter.

Pretty much our world today.

It happened closer to home then you think. Publix corporate used to give their employees free lunch, then a zoning law was passed and those lunches became taxable to the employees. Publix started charging instead, it equates to almost the same for the employees .
