Schneider or Harris?

Stanback is totally in the doghouse for a variety of reasons. It's very sad really. He's super fast for a 225+ pounder. He's been total enigma

He ran 100 meters as a high school senior just a tad slower than Josh Robinson and was one of the fastest runners in the state of NY in 2012.

Running very fast in a straight line with your eyes closed is fine for a track athlete...but while straight line speed can help a football player, that track speed doesn't help one iota if the football player is not reading their blocks, hesitating in the back field, not making cuts in the seams, etc...

Go back to one play in the FIU game when Stanback STOPPED in the backfield when he received a handoff from Holman, instead of "running thru" the hand-off.

Stanback is a good player...and he can be useful catching the ball out of the backfield in more open space.

Meanwhile, Taj showed much more quickness in his first ever college game vs what Stanback showed hurting the first 2 games of his Junior Year.

Hopefully Taj and Stanback can push each other to improve, especially if Wilson is still out.

Stanback should watch tape of storm his first year versus his second. He was abysmal his first season. He would shuffle his feet, hold the ball way out (which he never fully corrected), and cut off the wrong foot. Eventually something finally clicked and he became a good back.

I agree, Stanback seems to have a fast top gear, but his acceleration is lacking. He's best catching passes out of the backfield, where he already has a lot of momentum going.

They should have him shift before the snap into the slot. He'd be a real mismatch against a safety or LB. I don't think we've ever seen them use him that way.

GOL should stop trying to prove a point and let Stanback be Stanback.
And keep fumbling? Taj looked 10 times better than Stanback has in 18 months. Taj needs to put on 10-15 lbs of muscle and Stanback needs to get lean.

Stanback has been used in the flat before.

On one play vs FIU...with both Stanback and Wilson in the split backfield, both were rolling out in the flat to give Holman options but there was an illegal procedure call against UCF...which killed that opportunity.

Stanback is pretty good at picking up the blitz, getting open, etc...and maybe he could be used in that way to give Taj a break...which could help build back up Stanback's confidence....as UCF needs him, especially with Wilson injured and/or out.

Yeah like just running into the guards butt and not cutting when a hole is available. I'm sure O'Leary is ordering Stanback to not cut back when a seam is open.

He might be riding Stanback too hard. Let Stanback be Stanback and stand back.

Really? Its GOL's fault that Stanback has played so poorly so far?

GOL made him fumble vs Stanford on the best drive of the day?

Stanback knows what he needs to do...and I hope him and all the other RB's that will play this Saturday will "run angry", and start building up confidence that will be needed in the coming weeks vs tougher competition.

Super hugger is back!! Remember guys, coaches can do no wrong. It is always the players fault. Always.

Firmbizzle and cmony's credibility is shot. These guys make such stretched arguments that my 3 year old can poke holes in. What was once another perspective has become an extremist opinion not worthy of consideration.

Sometimes you can put too much pressure on a person and they start messing up. Let him do the things that he did his freshman year.

I get it. No matter what happens, GOL can do no wrong.

As I noted at the end of Stanback's Freshmen season...his yards per carry fell by almost 50% as opposing teams, even up against a UCF team with a much better OL, a great QB, loaded team with WR's and another top RB in the backfield, seemed to figure Stanback out a bit.

Last year he was injured at the beginning of the season and his toe was probably not totally heeled so I give him a past for last season.

Hope Taj, Will etc...push each other hard...as UCF will need at least 2 RB's to step up, especially if Wilson is still out.
