Here's the deal....after losing back to back GREAT classes, this is the WORST senior class in the O'Leary era.
Cedric Thompson is an average FB
Joey Grant is a nice guy but had only 1 good season.
Tarik Cook is disappointment.
Joseph Puopolo and Brendin Straubel are fillers.
Demetris Anderson was a plus but got hurt.
Domenic Spencer is slow and undersized.
Lance McDowdell isn't very good and doesn't produce results.
Thomas Niles is and can be a stud. We need him to produce more.
BTW, Miles Pace last game at Virginia Union got player of the game with 7 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks. His last game as a Knight he had 2 sacks.
The loss of Demetris Anderson and Miles Pace have been huge. Luke Adams is a joke, McDowdell and Monte Taylor haven't produced any results.
All in all, this is a rebuilding year and will pay dividends in the future. Playing 2 freshmen QBs, 2 freshmen RBs (CJ Jones this week), 2 sophomore WR and 2 fresh WR, and hopefully 2 freshmen LBs will bode well in the future. We will get better as the season moves on.
All of the O'Leary haters are clueless. I've coached high school sports 18 years and when different classes move through, the talent level always changes. There are always going to be rebuilding years unless you're a P5 powerhouse. The best way to judge a coach and coaching staff is if your team improves doing the year; not peak in Week 1 like Charlie Strong usually does.
