Should UCF add more of a Medieval feel to the theme?

Should UCF incorporate more of the "Medieval" theme in our..."Medieval" theme?

A common complaint I have heard from students, especially recently, is that the theme of the entire Athletics Department is pretty void of anything really "Knight" related.

That's pretty sad.

I'm not talking about turning it into a Disney Kingdom or Narnia. I'm talking about subtle additions to the concourse, outside facades and other areas to really push that ominous feel. the 2013 USC game was close...but they backed away from it ever since.

I'm pretty sure the students pay fees and should have a say. I'm pretty sure that's factual...

What if we burned witches before the game, started a system of nobility based solely on birth that would tell you where you can sit, allowed the Catholic Church to make the rules for the tailgating, gave GOL prima nocta, had beer wenches, nicknamed the team "the Black Death", the announcers speak in the King James and we keep our alumnI base young by having a life expectancy of 30.

I'm with everyone here on the uniform complaints but I'm apathetic on the medieval theme to the Stadium. I prefer UCF goes all in on the resort campus stereotype with any new upgrades and a complete overhaul on the selection of music inside the Stadium.

I want some brick facade instead of chain link. Maybe a pool or big jacuzzi for the students and a few more premium areas.

Sounds perfect.

We should change the god damned name then to the Pussy-willows.

I do agree about a proximity-based speaker system. More even coverage with less volume.

Well hopefully we move to the Citronaut anyway. Good time for a complete rebranding.

We need stadium improvements asap. It looks terrible from the outside. The whole stadium outside of student section should have seats like the club seats. Fencing needs to go and that is a cheap project. Upgrade video board to have a large HD board and better sound.

Citronaut would fit in well with tropical theme

Instead of Knights....let call ourselves UCF Nights.

It boggles me why we don't have a "real" knight (similar to Chief Osceola) lead the charge onto the field. Not only would it start a tradition, it would also make for great television.

Any medieval theming would have to happen inside the stadium. All the buildings surrounding the stadium have a Miami Art Deco look to them. To have a "castle" in the backdrop can only come off as theme park like, no matter how well it's done.

Is Chief Osceola a knight? How much would it cost to have The Mountain from Game of Thrones show up and throw white girls at other white girls?

Can you grow a bunch of trees to separate the buildings from the stadium?

You have not been around for long have you? We have had various incarnations of a knight who charges onto the field, waives a sword, fights another knight, pulls a sword from a stone, rides a horse, fights a dragon mascot..etc..

The problems have been that all of these things seemed forced and cheesy. Traditions are born usually by accident. You have to keep trying different things until they stick.

The stadium would look great with a medieval theme. The problems are 1. It has to be done right. Not on the cheap, but with real forethought. 2. is $$$$. We don't have it. 3. People have to buy in 4.) $$$ we don't have it

How much of what we don't have are we looking at?

At this point anything will be too much. There are just too many other needs from facilities all over the athletic dept to spend money on medieval themed upgrades to BHNS. I guarantee we are struggling just to keep up with the cost of attendance stipend so that players can buy X-boxes and such that research shows the money goes towards.

Its hard for me to believe reading articles about the revenue we have. I get it. We dont match with the P5, but are you telling me the UCF program is comparable to the United States government in debt owed?* I want numbers! :D

You want numbers... We owe GOL $1,000,000 and Key $600,000. Whenever key's wife is let go I'm sure she'll have a buyout as well

GOL is 5 yr/1 mil, and Key is 2 yr/700k. You mean we cant buy a dark themed Knight outfit for a hundred bucks?*
