Sinclair Made Dozens of Local News Anchors Recite the Same Script

It's a bit ironic that you just went nuclear on Wayne for having a biased posting pattern yet seemingly don't know that you do too. "Something negative about right-wingers? Time to post." And this entire post is "hypocrisy". A bit........ironic.

And to be clear, I don't really care if you post with a left wing tilt, just as I don't care if Wayne has his own tilt. But the hypocrisy here was too much to not point out.

I never said Wayne wasn't allowed to post the story. I just stated why I thought he posted the story. Which I STILL stand by. I didn't go nuclear on Wayne for posting the story. You all got triggered as hell that I said why I thought he posted it.

And yes...you are correct, I did post this story due to it's slant. And I don't think you're a douche for saying I did. I own up to my beliefs, not shy away and try to wiggle my way out of them.

If you don't like it, don't watch it.

I won't. I don't really watch local news, it's depressing as hell. The issue here, IMO, is that most people would have no idea Sinclair owns their local news station. It's not like CNN or MSNBC - where you know what you're getting.

Is this where I post a yawn gif and then this story magically goes away?

All news is biased. Local, national, school newspapers. It's the viewers/readers job to filter it.

At least they asked their audience to comment if they believed that coverage was biased or unfair. Would love to hear the same from most any media outlet.

I do agree with that. The difference here in my opinion is that although the CNN, MSNBC's, etc are all pretty well known for their biases, local news is a different beast.

It can be affiliated with any network (ABC, FOX, NBC) but on the surface you'd never know it's owned by Sinclair. Let's be honest too, most people aren't going to find out who owns their local station.

...words are nice. Would any of that feedback actually be looked at, acted upon?

Why does it matter who owns the station? All local stations are owned by someone with a bias. It's the viewers job to research, not just believe everything they hear.

Of course you screw that up, like everything else you do. It has to be a gif or it doesn't count. Right now this is still a real scandal, it doesn't go away until you post a gif, then it disappears to go live with the dozens of other major scandals of this administration.

btk posted your typical response to these types of threads. but glad to see you coming around

...and I've stated why I think this is different. Should everyone do their due diligence like Bob said? Yes. Will they? Hell no. People fall for stuff that looks even more fake all over the internet - they'll definitely fall for this.

glad you realize this is a problem

Why ask the questions if feedback wasn't expected and subsequently acted upon? Asking the question is a step in the right direction.

Wait...really? People call out the media all over the place but just instantly believe a company that is already doing something deceitful when they ask for "feedback"? MIND BLOWN.

Maybe the sole intent was to solicit the feedback.

Why are you so up in arms about this one media company? Because they're conservative?

Just trying to make the cooler "fair and balanced". We get the other side on the daily. Thought I'd switch it up a bit.

No honestly though...take a look at the cooler. It's way more conservative in posts than liberal. I'd say a good 75-80% of political posts that are started are conservative in nature.

Honest question - why believe them when you don't believe anything CNN/MSNBC states/asks?

It isn't necessarily the info being presented as much as the manner it's being presented and try to find a happy medium. I typically get much of my news from several websites vice a single new source.

bc it's the same 3-4 long time posters...doesn't really represent the majority of the UCF fanbase. They go to drudge report in the mornings to collect their links to spread

EVERY CONSERVATIVE GETS EVERY VIEWPOINT FROM FOX NEWS AND DRUDGE!!!!!!!!!111

YOU SAY THE SAME ABOUT US LIBS. I must love Maddow, right?

I honestly only reference MSNBC as a way to point out how absurd the constant, nonstop "FOX NEWS!!" references are. You don't watch MSNBC, I don't watch Fox News, yet certain people repeatedly insist that I do. I listen to NPR podcasts when I work out for God's sakes. I often have wade through biased crap to get to the interesting takes.

im glad you are starting to take a proactive approach to making the wc great again

A worthy post would be actually finding a media station that WASN'T biased.

This entire thread is worthless ... and now I have contributed to it.

Deadspin has broke some big stories in investigative journalism in sports & politics, not bad for a site that started out as a simple sports blog

Lmao. You're responses would be hilarious if they weren't so painfully predictable. Little GOP parrot repeating the party line.

SINCLAIR IS THE BOOGEYMAN!!!11

They own Tennis Channel too. Let’s see what subliminal pro Trump messaging they’ve ordered during the recent Miami Open.

I BET ITS NUTS

YAWN, NOTHING TO SEE HERE MOVE ALONG.

Jesus christ can you at least pretend to think for yourself for once instead of just regurgitating the GOP party line?

I don't give a shit what side of the political spectrum you fall on, or what side of the political spectrum the company providing these talking points, this is just creepy. If you think it's OK for a single company to dictate local news across the entire nation, you obviously are incapable of thinking for yourself.

A company sent out a script to anchors asking them to take to social media to point out when THEY messed up or were being biased.

OH NOZ!!!

Lol. You people are pathetic. If this were a CNN anchor reading the same damn script you’d be licking his balls for being so credible. “Look- he’s asking us to tell CNN when they’re being biased!”

Manufactured faux outrage de jour.
