That is soooo True!It is possible it will be both shaping up and our Achillies heel.
Yep...coach 'em up and call the right plays. We failed to recognize defensive schemes (example Navy) last year and our O was steamrolled by an inferior team. That can't happen this year and is one of the reasons I'm looking forward to some different play calling that identifies (and frankly is aware) what the D is doing and attacks it. We'll see...but I'm hopeful. We have to coach them up and I hope everyone is training hard this summer!![]()
Big Paul!!! Luv him. He's huge!Ive heard rubelt has made strides but i wont discount Amari Kight from bama. If he can protect the blind side maybe JRP can settle in the pocket and not scramble immediately
Yes, our D made no adjustments and played the equivalent of a prevent almost the entire game. They let Navy control the ball. But the O also stunk it up (14 points total against Navy...at home!) and much of that was the play calling. And it was an extremely important game where we could have clinched home field advantage for the championship game. We stunk it up on both sides of the ball. Now we should be turning the page, right?OMG That was a sad day. That was on the defensive coaching. I think he's gone now. NAVY just plowed right through us!
That’s exactly how I have it and I feel like it’s a better group than last year (potentially). Grable needs to improve and I think he will.My prediction:
LT: Grable
LG: Marshall
C: Schmidt
RG: Pauole
RT: Kight
Quality depth and maybe starters:
(T)Rubelt, (T/G) Collins,(G) Kinnie,(C/G) Metcalf.
Hopefully this will be the difference maker because these guys would be starters most years in the past.
I think we needed that game to be ranked as well. It was very important and was bad from HC down to STs players. Were not ready and/or no heart.Yes, our D made no adjustments and played the equivalent of a prevent almost the entire game. They let Navy control the ball. So 4 subs for a complete game? I didn't know big Paul was only a junior! My prediction:

Drake Metcalf and Paul Rubelt are the wild cards. It was not a good sign for Bula when Herb Hand said he was "excited" about Metcalf joining the competition during spring training. It is never good for any party when a coach talks about a player not on the roster. (Think about all the times that a coach has said "We are only concerned about the players on the team" after a certain player gets in trouble.) Rubelt, on the other Hand, was said to have improved. I am not certain how much that was coach speak. We will find out if he is starting at right tackle. Lastly, I will add Josh Harris to the list of quality depth. My prediction:
LT: Grable
LG: Marshall
C: Schmidt
RG: Pauole
RT: Kight
Quality depth and maybe starters:
(T)Rubelt, (T/G) Collins,(G) Kinnie,(C/G) Metcalf.

Am i the only one glad to have navy off the schedule? Our coaches seemed clueless they ran a triple optionYep...coach 'em up and call the right plays. I’m with you there. never want to see another military academy ever. Boring football, dangerous football and a trap game waiting to happen. Don’t even schedule the Citadel.Am i the only one glad to have navy off the schedule? Our coaches seemed clueless they ran a triple option
It was so fun visiting Annapolis and pounding them!....well until we lost at home :-(Am i the only one glad to have navy off the schedule? Our coaches seemed clueless they ran a triple option
