Sounds like Frost gave a subtle hint that Milton is starting

Question: What's going on with the QB situation?

Frost: The time off gave us a chance to get more healthy.

Translation: Milton is healthier now.

My Translation: Milton is starting.

Me if Milton doesn't start: :flushed::cry:

He'll probably play both QBs. Interesting who starts though. It's amazing the effect that "pulling a QB out of the game for a few plays" has.

The QB gets a breather, get to look from the outside in, regains confidence. It's good we can do this.

Thoughts?

I don't think Frost is a duel QB kind of coach. I think he sticks with one guy.

Listen to this clip post ECU from Holman:

At 0:57 "I started feeling healthy a little bit before the FIU game, but I see why coach took it easy... coming into this game I still see why he wanted to take it easy. It's a long season and a lot of conference play left."

Translation: I'm the starter, coach didn't want to risk my health for conference play in an OOC game. If I'm healthy, I'm the QB.

Is that actually the situation? Don't know, but that's Holman's assessment.

Frost didn't tell Holman he was starting till like 15 minutes before kickoff.

I think he even keeps the players out of the loop during the week and just tells everyone to be ready. I don't think he burned Milton's redshirt to have him be the backup the rest of the season

Right. He's said that over and over again in every way possible. Only the two in-game injuries has prompted him to replace the QB when the outcome was at all in doubt.

Whatever it is, Frost is stunting Holman's growth.

Holman's stats in last season's game vs Temple...
10-of-31 passes for 72 yards and two interceptions

I'm the press will asked the starter and coach after the game when the decision was made, if only because this has become a weekly drama. Notice that last game, both Holman and Frost told reporters that it was a game-time decision. Now perhaps (likely?) Frost had decided well in advance, but just wanted to see if Holman wouldn't be over-excited if he didn't know he'd be starting. It worked--sorta. Hollman wasn't overthrowing all his receivers. Instead, he under threw them more often.

Maybe it is a type of Goldilocks syndrome. Too hard, too soft, now he will get it just right

Frost isn't GOL, thank God.

He reads the stats sheet and doesn't believe that fieldmanship
and seniority should determine who starts :)

Milton. (Note: Like any good coach Frost wants both QBs ready to play
in case of re-occurring ankle injury.)

To play devil's advocate, could Milton still redshirt. He has only appeared in 2 games and was injured in his second one. He didn't even appear in the first two, and was only forced to play by injury to the starter and ineffectiveness of his replacement. If he has a serious appeal, is it possible that Frost is considering that now, especially if Milton's injury is likely to be a nagging one that would seriously impair him as a running threat?

Yes he could if he didn't play rest of the year.

Well he couldn't redshirt, but he could try and get a medical redshirt. I am sure there is probably some type of process as well in which he would have to prove an injury is preventing him from playing. If the kid can run, let him play!

In this morning's "Get Up. Its Gameday" UCF Football FB post video the only qb shown in the highlights is #10 Milton.....How is that for insider info!!!!
That's great! I'll take anything at this point. That's good enough for me!

My friends and I are so excited about today's game you couldn't imagine. It's hard to believe that it's 28 days since the Maryland game.

I'll tell you, the excitement will be off the charts if Milton runs out there as the starter.

If it's Holman, yeah we will be excited because we are UCF fans, but it's not the same. I think that there will be a general feeling of disappointment in the air.

I don't care. It has to mean Milton is starting! Lol.

By the way.., love the way this new regime is posting all over social media.

Absolutely nothing is overlooked. Between Twitter, UcfKnights.com and Facebook, there is every sound bite, interview, video, daily gameday schedule, stats, etc. Really nice job of getting the fanbase and community excited.

Need more of those "excited fanbase and community to finally start buying tickets (let alone donating to the program).

Years of embarrassing mediocrity, incompetence, nepotism, cronyism, and dysfunctional ol' boy culture is finally coming to an end.
Danny White certainly must have been aghast at the low bar standards acceptable here. Great to see his professional management take over here.

Yes!! All of that!! Whatever those words mean [cheers]

what's with all this fear mongering with Milton? wasn't it just a sprained ankle? and pretty sure there was media that saw him warming up before ECU

yeah fans will root for UCF regardless but Holman just doesn't doesn't create the same excitement. You are waiting for something to go wrong when he's at QB
