Speaking of Acts of Patriotism...

The stated reason it was blocked was an ADDED piece that shifts 400 billion of spending from discretionary spending to mandatory. The Republicans pushed for an amendment to take it out of the bill, and Schumer would not allow any amendments on the bill. Schumer was pushing to either make Republicans look bad, or ramp up spending that had 0% to do with the bill. Veterans should be pissed off, at both sides of the Isle, for letting politics rule over what should have been a good slam dunk bill. The problem could be addressed in a couple of hours, but it won't be because it gives Dems a political win to the detriment of veterans who mostly have no idea about the $$ spending grab hidden inside of it.

This is a perfect example of the swamp doing what the swamp does. Then they wonder why their approval ratings are horrid.

One more time for the people in the back: I hope no one is fooled by the charade any further. The Left is no more your friends than the Right, so quit pretending like you're both the good guys. All y'all both equally trash.

If you'd explore the legislation, you'd discover that the GOP talking point is TOTAL BULLSH*T!

The so-called "ADDED piece" about how the bill gets paid was IN THE ORIGINAL BILL the Republican Senate voted overwhelmingly in favor of only a week ago. The only change that had to be made from the original bill was one single sentence about veterans being allowed to use rural facilities for their treatments when they live far away from a VA hospital or clinic.

The GOP Senators are hoping and praying their base won't look into it and discover their senators were just playing politics and using veterans' lives to do it.

And a week later the Bill is done and signed. Just normal Capitol hill nonsense.

There are often things stuffed into bills by the party in charge to make the other party vote against it and look bad for a few days in public. Both parties do it, it isn't new, surprising, or unusual. It is how the swamp works.

That isn't an attack on Dems, because when Reps have the majority, they do the same damn thing. You give the opposition a black eye, and at the end of the day it passes. You did exactly what they wanted to happen talking about how evil the Republicans were, and If next year the Republicans have the majority and pull the same thing, I will likely do just what you did.

It is the game that's played. To answer your question no it was not removed, though an amendment was voted on as the Republicans asked for. Republicans got the vote, but after losing it voted for the Bill.
