Who's going to spill the beans..... the Orlando Sentinel, Brandon or somebody else? I know it will come out soon.

Danny White being high paid doesn’t affect me one way or another. Good for him but I don’t really care.
Trust me. He’s one of the best ADs in the country. There are some bad ones out there and we have had a few. If he’s not our AD, you’re not going to see nearly the same quality of coaches, play, facilities, and excitement associated with UCF. So.,, if you’re a fan of UCF athletics, you probably want to support him as much as possible to keep him here as long as possible

There are many incompetent ADs who have caused football programs to be put on probation, sanctions, etc.

He’s responsible for Frost, Heupel, Dawkins, etc. without him, UCF football doesn’t go 13-0 in 2 years from 0-12. The AD is the brains behind it all.

Historically...and still true at most schools...AD's are just administrators who sit behind a desk...hire and fire people...and sign off on crap, especially at P5 schools have have guaranteed revenue streams based off their TV deals.

Danny White, (one of his first collegiate jobs was as a fundraiser for Ole Miss Booster Club), destroyed that mold when he became the #1 fundraiser for the school, which is usually handled by Booster Club Employees at most schools. (Yes, UCF also has some great employees in development/fundraising...but DW took UCF's fundraising to the next, next, NEXT level).

DW has helped increase UCF's revenue by multiple 7 plus figures...so he is actually earning pay on his REVENUE GENERATION,much more so than his "admin" duties of hiring/firing...sitting in boring meetings, etc...

Correct. Nice to have him around long term, but not super exciting news.

DW remains focused on making UCF a top 25 athletic program, which is great for UCF. Him staying around for the long term may not sound exciting per se, but it is great news!

It would appear that by virtue of the fact that DW is pictured at the top of this article he is viewed as the model AD in certain circles.......

Danny White is the genius behind the rebirth of UCF athletics. Not only in football but in every sport. His marketing plans and use of social media are amazing. If UCF is going to be considered for expansion for any conference it will need to be viewed as an overall package, not just football. As we have seen football coaches come and go, especially while we are in the AAC. Having someone like Danny White at the helm is worth more than having a Scott Frost stay. DW will now be making 7 figures at UCF. I guarantee this is a result of him being courted by several big time athletic departments. DW sees what Scott Frost did here. He just does not have the peer pressure pull of "coming home". This development is a great thing for UCF. It is likely the next step to a bigger conference.

We have had two truly visionary ADs. Steve Orisini was instrumental in upgrading athletic facilities in building BHNS, the arena and hiring GOL as a national name. Danny White is the other and we know what he has done. During these tenures UCF athletics made giant leaps.

We had some mediocre/typical ADs like Steve Slone and Todd Stansbury. Slone moved to slow and was too conservative in his thinking, Stansbury was seemed to be just a placeholder.

We have had two terrible ADs in Keith Tribble and George O'Leary.

I might argue that Gene McDowell was also not a good AD as he totally missed the boat on getting UCF into a conference like CUSA. He thought that independence would lead to a big conference invite like it did for FSU. He also ignored basketball as an important feature for an athletic dept.

So having a good AD for UCF is not just good, it is critical to our advancement.

If Notre Dame calls, DW is gone.

Him getting a raise is not exciting news in and of itself. I didn’t hear he was looking for another job. I don’t care if they pay him 20 mil a year. It’s not my money. Great it keeps him here a little longer but not getting me excited. It’s his business.

You get excited about Hescock, but not this?
SMH :joy:
