I know we will be mostly quiet. So far we have lost 4 to the portal:

Rizk
Waltclaire Flynn
Tre-Quon Fegans (transferred to us last year from USC) - thought he would be a good get but hardly played
William Wells - who was in the portal after last season but just re-posted

Have gained one
IOL Connor Meadows from Tn St (spent 2 years at Tenn Vols)

Or go to an FCS school. All these kids want to impress people by where they go instead of where they can play. For most kids you’re better off aiming low and getting experience right away. Then you transfer after season. Just go to a G5!you can start right away. If you do well you go to P4 where you can start but not a blue blood. Then after that cash in when a few schools want you.

Terrible example.

Incarnate Word was Cam Ward's only D1 offer out of high school, so he technically signed at the highest level possible.

Given the analogy of the previous poster, Ward should have spurned the D1 offer and signed with an NAIA, D2, or D3 where he could have "balled out" and signed with an FBS program later.

The truth is no kid is going to turn down a full ride to sign with some sh*tty program. What you are proposing is the equivalent of turning down a top tier offer from a really hot cousin to bang an ugly fat chick. Not gonna happen.

This crap has been going on for so long, the regulars have chosen just ignore him and his alter ego.

This board's philosophy seems to be 'all posts are okay posts.' In general, I like that approach. I've never been a fan of forums where you have moderators who act like damn thought police. But on the other hand, if you close your eyes and allow obvious trolling, the forum loses much more than it gains.

Who knows how many UCF fans have left the forum in disgust after reading their BS day after day? Trolls were allowed to destroy the Water Cooler and, slowly but surely, this forum is allowing a different bunch of trolls to do the same thing here. I frequent many boards and I've never seen one run as poorly as this place.

Knight fans are attracted to forums like this one for a bit of hope and excitement. Are they places where anger and frustation are expressed too? Sure, you bet. But constant gloom and doom -- especially when its deliberate trolling -- are forum killers. What do you think this forum's 'dynamic duo' have planned for posting this summer and next fall? You all can't wait, right? 😜 By 'just ignoring them,' how many Knight fans are checking out this place and deciding, "Thanks, but no thanks." It destroyed the Water Cooler and the signs are already here that it'll happen to this forum too if somebody in charge doesn't get their act together.

Sorry for the Saturday morning rant but I felt the need to vent. I don't want to watch another forum here allowed to die a slow death.

I've heard that explanation here before. It certainly provides a rationale for allowing this kind of nonsense to continue. But in truth, the exact opposite is the case. Quality free forums are The Best Advertisements for joining the site's paid forum. Bad ones do nothing but put a drag on the entire site.

No forum is perfect. But this place has been pretty darn good over the years and has a number of very good posters. I don't post here often but I've learned a lot from checking out this place out on a regular basis since 2016 when Frost arrived the first time. I got hooked in 2017 and have been a Knight fan (Frost or no Frost) ever since.

My frustration here comes from the fact that it wouldn't take much to make this forum better. But moderator inaction is gradually making it worse (particularly during the football offseason.)
