And this is why I have enormous respect for Steve Spurrier and close to zero respect for GOL; Spurrier knew when to call it quits as he's left it all out on the sidelines. GOL is an old, delusional, past-his-prime, washed up, self-absorbed coach that only thinks of his own bank account at the expense of his legacy at UCF. Well . . . I'm sorry it's come to this but FCUK GOLs LEGACY. MF'er needs to go!!!

Bet you GOL and Spurrier are going to have a phone conversation. GOL is either retiring this year or for sure next
He may want to go out a winner next year and not leave like this. It may not be his choice.

Whatever happens, I hope GOL will end on a high note.

Or you could view it like this....spurrier totally screwed over south carolina because he should have quit after last season so a new coach and staff could be in place. What a selfish prick, retiring when he wants to. Now it is a steve spurrier retirement tour where the players may step up for him, but also may just pack it in. What a f-ing self-centered a-hole!

Spurrier didn't want to retire. Did you see him at the beginning of the season?

You think George is going to have a choice to come back? Cause he's not

SC now has the opportunity to conduct a thorough search for their next leader and have that person in place as quickly as possible so that the transition has as little negative impact on recruiting as possible. Classy move from Spurrier to step down now.
Very classy. He did a good job for them, lead them to their best seasons but it is time for a change. Now USC can get a great coach to move their program forward. SS left the program better than when he found it.

Hell, I'd let him finish out the season here.

Absolutely not. UCF needs to make a statement by getting rid of GOL now. Why wouldn't a coach want to coach at UCF?? Look at how tolerant we are of mediocre coaching? Let's face it, there's a lot more missing here than coaching. Our whole game day package is lacking.

Ever see the commercials of the "big time" program pregame shows. The fans are electrified and crazy with passion as their teams, mascots, etc. rushing the field.

Say what you will about uniforms and school colors not mattering. The GOL-era has turned us into a vanilla on white school. Oh sure, we got to wear black last week. Wow. The other schools with great colors do something with those colors and even add color to them. UCF doesn't color outside the lines at all. It's like we're in the geriatric conference that has no vision for how the intangibles impact a program.

Our university and program is overdue for a different energy than GOL and Hitt together can bring.

So your Oprah Channel rant is about UCF's school colors...colors that UCF selected LONG before O'Leary ever became HC?

Wow...great insight and perfect reasoning to get rid of a coach.

This is so true. UCF is severely under-performing. I can't wait to go back to the cool gold helmets and black jerseys, maybe black socks. We are vanilla. The huggers say that intangibles don't matter, I disagree.

Wrong bro. GOL got rid of the gold helmets and rarely lets the team wear black. It's like he's trying to turn us into is old vanilla Georgia Tech squad. They wore blue uniforms when they won a national championship. George gets there and it's all white and gold.

If you hate UCF's current helmets...thats a you problem...especially what UCF had before.

Also O'Leary was on the Ga Tech National Championship Coaching Staff.

That has nothing to do with the conference, it's on GOL trying to make a young program look as boring as possible. The intangibles matter in Recruiting. No Rap Music! Get off my lawn!!

I just love how some of our fans just want to destroy GoL.

I can understand them hoping GoL will announce his retirement.
I can even understand pushing him out, but letting him finish the season.

But what purpose does it serve to kick out the coach immediately after a few games after all he's done?
All it does is to serve notice to any, prospective UCF HC that if you lose a few we don't like, you're gone, immediately.

I hope he would also, but it will be years before this team is good. WE ALL KNOW THAT WHEN NEXT YEAR COMES, IT WON'T BE MUCH BETTER. That's a given. Not yelling, just making a point :)

No matter how much talk and practice and excitement, we may win 1 or 2 more games.
That's the big picture here. We won't be much better next year. We need to start making long term plans immediately and we all agree that GOL isn't in the long term plan.

No it won't. He's been here twelve seasons, TWELVE!!, with multiple losing seasons in that time. No one with a reasonable amount of intelligence would look at that and think "these guys are impatient and over-reactive". Come on now.
