stadium updates

This got me thinking. Jimmy Hulas would be a nice fit with the cabana. I wonder if they have a UCF affiliation. That would be some good grub to enjoy with a cold one while watching our beloved Knights!!!

This is/was probably the best idea so far.

I really don't think that anyone will be judging the cabana by the theme food. I think all they care about is 1) Beer 2) Food (is there some) and 3) Beer.

We actually talked about this at work. Price-wise, once you tip at Sonny's, it is the same price if not more (unless you are a cheap tipper). $8.49 Big Deal plus tip is $10+ (add $2 if you want a second side). 4R Sandwich (includes 2 sides) is $8.49 plus $2 drink.

Wait time is equivalent also (4R you wait in line, Sonnys you wait at the table and it doesn't always come out hot there either). Not sure what 4R you went to and had to wait for a table. I have never had to wait at University (and trust me, I go more than most... and more than I should). The one time I would have had to wait was because someone tried "saving seats"... I nicely handed them the sign on the table that said "no reserving seats" and sat my family down.

4R does not have an all-you-can-eat (AYCE) option. When I do BBQ, I like to eat man! I always get AYCE turkey breast, fresh hot fries, and green beans @ Sonny's. With a tip and drink, it's gonna set you back about $20. But, like I mentioned, it's AYCE. By the time you buy a pound of turkey @ 4R, sides, and a drink, you're at about $20 (and it's still less food than what you'd get @ Sonny's). In my experience, the food has consistently been cold at 4R vs. Sonny's.

I've eaten at the 4R's in Winter Park and the one at University (both twice) and have experienced the same thing in both places. Their other restaurant, The Coop, suffers from the same problem---it's way overpriced for what you get and by the time you take your first bite, it's ice cold. Maybe I'm just super picky. But I like my food piping hot. And for what you end-up paying, you get a lot more food @ Sonny's. Thus, I have way kinder words to say about Sonny's than I do 4R.

GO KNIGHTS! Beat the Panthers!

Chris

If I'm in the Cabana, I'm not looking for a total immersion experience. I'm watching a football game in a fun environment with booze.

Inking the most popular florida bbq chain, one that happen to have started here in Orlando, is clutch. Would love to add TJ Flats for similar reasons. Maybe TJ's would fit in better for all those looking for Epcot.

Haha. Nice addition to the stadium. Looked good on TV. Can anyone with access to the club share their overall experience?

It was good. Beers were $6 which is reasonable these days. Service was great and the lines weren't long for food, drinks, or to use the bathroom. There were couches to relax on, big overhead fans and plenty of tables to put down your drinks and food. I wish I would have purchased the side seats as they were closer and more private.
