Cliff's:
Stanford male swimmer rapes junior coed behind a dumpster after a party. Coed was blackout drunk, swimmer was only sorta drunk. During the rape, two passers by interrupt the raping, and hold the swimmer down while waiting for the cops to arrest him. Coed comes to in hospital not knowing she'd been raped until the staff told her what had happened. Case goes to trial, swimmer tries to buy off witnesses and then claims coed was a slut and consented. Swimmer found guilty of rape, but only sentenced to 6 months. Coed reads touching letter to the court: https://www.buzzfeed.com/katiejmbak...read-to-her-ra?utm_term=.rakQzZYq9#.nkAvLl9rG

Swimmer's dad pens an awesomely awful letter to the judge to ask for leniency, calls the rape "20 minutes of action" and claims that a 6 month sentence (and a lifetime of being a registered sex offender) has ruined his son.

The part about the steaks is hilarious. "My son used to eat big ribeye steaks and my favorite chips. Now he sulks around the house."

How about not raping women, dick?

A female friend of the swimmer-rapist penned a letter in support of him, saying such memorable things such as "...rape on campuses isn’t always because people are rapists. It is because these universities market themselves as the biggest party schools in the country." and "If I had to choose one kid I graduated with to be in the position Brock is, it would never have been him. I could name off 5 others that I wouldn't be surprised about."

*facepalm* after *facepalm*

I hope they remove that judge from his position over this. Its utterly ridiculous. Bet if the kid had raped the judges' family or friend, he wouldve gotten a different sentence.

Some other weird stuff from the case: despite several requests from the media, the Santa Clara SO declined to publish the booking mugshot, simply stating that "it will not be released." In most criminal cases, the news gets the booking mugshot very early on. In Brock's case, it wasn't released until last night.

A bit different from the cleaned-up sentencing mugshot which was taken after the trial:

But it is curious as to why the booking mugshot wasn't released until people were getting upset.

When you think about it, Jeffrey Dahmer murders probably only accounted for a couple hours of his 30 year life up to his conviction. On top of that, he sadly lost the taste for human flesh in prison. I guess in retrospective he probably should have been released.

Really, most crimes are spur of the moment bad decisions. We shouldn't let those dictate the futures of people. Let everyone roam free with probation. They learned their lesson by having to go to trial and not eating their dad's favorite pretzels anymore.*

You all are so bigoted. You can't possibly understand what it's like to be a rapist. You shouldn't be criticizing this poor kid for being the type of person he wants to be.
Really any of us could be rapists if we committed rape. In that sense, he's like everyone else. So why is he singled out to be in prison?

When you hear about it, it's the pretzel part that truly pull on your heartstrings.

Just shut up. Unless you've ever been a privileged whitey D1 athlete you wouldn't understand!

It was bad enough being the father of a rapist, but now he's made people truly hate him with that obscene letter. What an asshat.

The judge should be strung up by his balls too for that horse shit sentence.

Knowing it's very possible the victim was white, doesn't that blow this tired talking point to bits?

Not necessarily but the fact that this kid was an athlete that actually got convicted and sentenced is contrary to the notion of white privilege. UF, FSU, Alabama, etc are laughing at this dumb white boy and his dumb white arrest, conviction and sentencing.

Not only that, but prior to the conviction, the dumb white boy athlete was expelled, removed and barred from campus, and had his scholarship revoked (not in that order).

And I love how he was totally committed to preaching the dangers of sexual promiscuity...Yup. That was the problem.
He should go around to HS and warn potential D1 athletes about the dangers of consequences for your actions if you choose the wrong school. If he had just chosen Baylor over Stanford, none of this would have happened. Well except the rape of course.

Yep. Not enough slut shaming at Stanford. Need to go to a parochial school for that.

Geez. So much for dumb white privilege. Maybe it's just because he's a good swimmer.
