Can someone good with stats look at our recruiting classes and see if recruits from Dade and Broward (especially skill positions) pan out as contributors at a higher rate than recruits from elsewhere? I would like to think so but have no idea what the data actually says. It's an interesting theory and in light of our steal from FIU, relevant. I posted in another thread that FIU usually has good skill players ( WR/DB/LB/RB) that fell through the cracks due to an over abundance of skill talent in Miami. FIU is not good as a team overall because they can't recruit out of Miami and Miami doesn't produce nearly as many QB/OL/DL as skill players. UCF has a farther reach nationally for those types of recruits. Doesn't matter that this kid is a two star FIU commit because he is a skill kid from Dade so he has potential from growing up competing against the best in the country his whole life. Kid might just need to fill out physically and polish technique with coaching. Can't teach speed or Miami confidence and swagger.
