Another reason why I'll never step foot in a Wal Mart again.

Just rolled this out. You have to purchase at least $35, but if you have Prime, you can order by noon and have it to your door by 9 pm.

I tried it on Saturday- ordered at 10:30 and it was to my door by 4:15. Incredible.

My impulse buying is only going to get worse.

85, how does this work? Is it like Prime in that the item has an icon that indicates eligibility for same-day delivery?

Yep. If you have Prime you're eligible. Just find items that have the Prime logo, fill your cart to at least $35, and then select "Upgrade to same day delivery" when you check out with 1-Click. Place it by noon and it'll be there that day.

Interesting piece.

The other day, we had a shipment of about 250-300 boxes that we were sending USPS Priority Mail so it was more than you'd want to take to the counter. They had me drive around back and there was a sign on the door for Amazon drivers to go to x dock. I asked the guy and he told me that Amazon trucks deliver to the PO and they deliver the proverbial last mile which is why Amazon can offer it so cheap.

My guess is the local thing is somewhat of a similar logistics model to this.

That's really cool, I love hearing how they make these things work financially.

Nice. Amazon makes a half penny profit after 10 years and the stock goes nuts. I'm sure this will be a profit center for them too.

I have resisted Prime for years now but that may change.

I agree with Brah. Why? We have one Prime account for the whole family so we split that little fee up between everyone that uses it. We have multiple credit cards associated with it and have never had any problems. It's worth every penny considering how much we save in shipping and other Prime bargains.

Hey fab, if anyone who uses that Prime account goes to college, have them use their student ID and Prime is like 30% cheaper per year.

They only allow it for four years. I think if you can prove you are still in school you can keep it going for longer.

It was a sad day when they took away our student pricing. :weary:
I think all you have to do is submit paperwork proving you're enrolled in classes for the current year at a recognized college. Last I tried anyway

I love what prime has done to the market. Walmart/Sams, Target, Amazon head to head on shit in a matter of clicks I win. Love it. Prime not the cheapest even w subscribe & save & free shipping on some stuff. You may just have to give urself some lead time from TGT & WMT.

Walmart's website sucks. It is nearly impossible to find out if a store has something in stock on it. I'm not venturing to that hellhole unless I know for sure they have what I want to get.

Yeah don't do any shopping @ Walmart or walmart.com except for buying hard gift cards with electronic walmart giftcards I bought at a discount elsewhere (getting regular & click thru cashback of course) only to get a hard gift card for use at Sam's which is across my work/on my way home.

I'll concede it's more hoops than the average person wants to jump thru for a 5% savings, but stacking that with already cheap shit prices at Sam's is awesome.

Yea I used the student pricing well after school but maybe it was bc I never signed up until the end. I just lied about the graduation date.
