Temple Game set for 7:30pm

what time do recruits that are OVs get On Campus? I bet Frost & Held would love to showcase Spirit Splash to them if possible, one of the best traditions in the Nation

I think a sellout now is about 44,500.
1) It's been a month since the last home game
2) Temple is a decent team
3) It's a 7:30 gametime which are popular
3) We are 3-2
4) The overall excitement of the program with the new offensive style (Killins, Milton, etc).
I'm expecting 43,000-sellout.

5) We have our first competent A.D. who knows how to stage and manage sporting events.
6) We again have a coach who isn't a turn off to fans.

I wonder if there is as much enthusiasm with the fans in general as there seems to be on this board. I am thinking 39k

I've seen over my nearly 3 decades here a flooding of UCF alums into the region and major decline in UF/FSU preoccupation. The two go hand in hand in today's sports saturated market. It used to be that Atlanta dominated the baseball and football pro market here, now that doesn't exist. Rollins used to be our major rival for attention in the Sentinel. Times have really changed.

Several here projected this as a likely loss, and for good reason. Temple has a potent offense with a strong rushing attack and put up over 400 yds passing last week. They are defending eastern division champs in the AAC. It took everything Memphis had to come back against Temple last week at home. And Memphis is an excellent team that could still win the conference.

Thousands of tix are available on ticketmaster.com plus other UCF "official" tix that have put certain sections/rows on stubhub too...but with a Saturday Night Prime Time game, Homecoming and projected good weather, hope a crowd of 40,000 plus will show up by game time.

NOTE: Remember, UCF's best LB Rucker has to sit out the first half of this game (since the Tulane game was post-poned) for the targeting call vs ECU 2 weeks ago.

yeah I'm worried about this game and their Defense + Walker burning us w the QB run

but one detail not mentioned about the Memphis game. I think Memphis is a lot better than they showed on Thursday but they were playing on a short week after playing Ole Miss so I assume there were some sluggish and tired bodies out there

It will be like a later substitution in soccer. As our defense tires, Rucker can enter the game to restore energy to the run defense and pass rush.

Also keep in mind that we were God awful last year, Temple fielded their best team, probably ever, last year and we were leading this game going into the 4th at their house. We are orders of magnitude better than last year and Temple is not as good (as they have beaten 3 crappy teams, lost to Army and to 2 decent, but not great teams) so we should match up well against them. Not that last year's results have any bearing on this year, but people love to bring up last year so this is another statistic. Add to that we get this game at home and I like our chances.

all good points but during the Memphis game I heard them mention that Temple RB Thomas missed the first few weeks(including the Army loss). Outside of Walker he is their best playmaker and is even used on Special Teams.

Another reason that I hope Milton is the starter is that with the way he moves in the pocket when the pass rush comes there's a better chance of the Temple Dline getting gassed trying to chase him around which could pay off in the 2nd half.

Yet they are still 6 and 7 places above UCF in the ESPN power rankings and Sagarin rankings (low sixties vs. upper sixties).

I haven't been back on campus in about 3 years, and haven't attended a home football game since I worked in the ticket sales staff back in 2010. I'm beyond excited to fly down from NYC for this game. The tailgating, seeing old friends, walking around campus. I just can't wait to hit Orlando.

Charge On!

The weather is cooperating, too, for your visit. Staying with friends and family or at a hotel?

Temple fan here. Looking forward to an exciting game. Temple needs to get the monkey off their back in the state of FL. Haven't won a game there since 1938 0-12.

Temple is an interesting team. I don't think they have played a complete game yet this season as they are young and tend to have lapses. The young talent is good but needs to mature. Take a look at the Memphis game. Temple had a chance to put away Memphis early but settled for FGs in the first half. They put up 531 total yards but lost because of a kick return TD and a pick 6 by Memphis. Mental lapses have cause big plays by the opposition. I expect Temple to play very sound this week and run the ball with Thomas and Armstead. Should be a good game. Since Jahad Thomas has been back in the lineup, Temple has averaged 432.5 yrds of offense.

As far as last years game, it was actually not as close as the score made it seem. UCF had a pick six and Temple fumbled a punt that resulted in 3 more points. Temple had two other turnovers in the game as well. Not many times a team can have 4 turnovers and still win a ball game 30-16. The past is in the past however.

This game will come down to if Temple can stop UCF's rushing attack.

Have a good game, stay healthy.

Congrats on the win over us last year. I think you guys were 1 of only 12 that did.

Crashing in my fraternity brother's guest room of his house. No matter my age/life situation, I'll always pull that card when I'm back in the O!
Just as long as you resist pulling an "Old School" Will Ferrell on them. We can't hold our liquor like when we were younger and in shape.
