Very sad news. Barcelona is such a beautiful city, hate to think something like this could happen there.
 
TV3 in Spain is now reporting 2 armed terrorists are holding hostages in a Turkish Restaurant nearby. TV3 noted that these armed assailants are from Northwest African Country.
 
More media outlets are now reporting that at least 2 died at scene of the collision/crash.
 
Here is the area of where this car crash occurred in Las Ramblas where the van/car jumped the curb.

Also, the reported of armed assailants holding hostages at Turkish Restaurant may not be in this specific area.

Could it have been a coordinated simultaneous attack at 2 locations or are these 2 separate incidences.
 
Sky News is now reporting that Barcelona Police have already called the car incident a terrorist attack.
 
It seems that motor vehicles are becoming the terrorist weapon of choice. It's time to seriously start thinking about banning motor vehicles larger than a scooter.

There is actually a violent left wing communist gang in Barcelona that has been threatening tourists and decrying capitalism. I wouldn't be totally surprised if this was carried out by them.

There are also the ETA basque separatists in the region but they usually attacked Spanish areas and not Catalonian.
 
Sky News is now claiming 13 have died. (Hopefully that is an error and an extra "1" wasn't added to that number.).

Reports are now that the Van went down a pedestrian path (after jumping the curb from the road) for at least a block plowing into people on that walk way.

Officials from Clemson, Oregon St, Arizona and Tulane noted everyone in their official travel parties are safe.
 
There are hundreds of Isabella of Castille statues throughout Spain. She led the Spanish Inquisition which imprisoned 150,000 people and executed 3,000.

They should all be removed and shoved into a museum!

IIRC, she also completed the liberation of Spain from the muslims, I think her statues are safe

CNN is going to be pissed that was they might have to report on something other then Trump tonight although I'm willing to bet they still spend more time on Trump.
 
I'm going to Europe for 2 weeks in September. I will be staying out of packed tourist areas.
 
One suspect has been arrested.

Another suspect has been killed in a shoot out after his Ford Focus rammed a police checkpoint. Suspect started a shootout but for fortunately killed.

Alright dickwad. I know you choose to be an insufferable asshole at all times, but kindly GFYS.

I checked in and flew out of the Brussels airport a mere 3 days before it was bombed to shit. It's not stupid to exercise extra caution in Europe when our own State Department is advising extra vigilance for travelers when going out in public. To not do so is just braindead stupid.

I can't wait for the day that you view a post and simply choose to not be a raging asshole in response.

I've already told you when that will happen, when people stop posting innacurate or illogical things. I know why you get so upset, it's because I call you out on your BS in a very dickish way. Thing is, I DGAF if you're pissed, I think its funny that I point out wrong things and then you people get upset. But like I've said I'll stop as soon as you all stop, I'm sure it won't be happening anytime soon as long as gal still has access to a computer and Trumpets still don't know how the 1st ammendment works. But I'm entertained.

Driss Oukabir, from Morocco, was previously released from prison in 2012...but had been living in Spain for quite awhile. He had visited Madrid earlier (maybe lived nearby) and didn't arrive in Barcelona till just a few days ago on August 13th.

He rented the Van some 18 miles outside of Barcelona yesterday (might have rented another vehicle at same time too).

Oukabir made posts on his fb page towrd the end of July complaining about Jewish Occupation in Palestine.

Facebook has taken his account down.

ISIS is now taking credit for Barcelona attack.

Police now say van was traveling on the pedestrian walkway for 580 yds, traveling between 50-60 mph.
 
We need to stop Muslims from entering our country. Can you imagine an America where terrorist attacks like this happen? People who do stuff like this should not be permitted to call America home.
