Texas billionaires made a $200 million bet on a college football ‘laughingstock.’ It’s paying off with a championship run

This College Football era will be known as The Wild Wild West Era.

Eventually, in my opinion, some rules will be needed. Some fairness in the spending. For now though...very interesting!

Also, gambling is very acceptable now and seems to be the main endorsers of college football. Lot's of ads for gambling.

It's not your grandfathers college football anymore. And, your grandfathers are probably rolling in their grave over all of this!

I like how the SEC conference seems so insignificant now. Yea for them expanding the playoffs. Yea for SMU kicking BAMA out.

Interesting times, indeed!

If you didn't see SMU coming after NIL, you clearly never watched the documentary. They've had billionaires waiting for this day for the last 30+ years. SMU is going to be a perennial national power. They're gonna buy their way there.

Smartest thing they did recently was agree to little to no $$ just to join the ACC. Remember when everyone, like usf, laughed at them?

PS will never forget the most interesting, in a non-football way, game I ever watched was the UCF-SMU frozen game where they didn't have anyone in the stadium.

Them making the playoff will get them more money than being in AAC. ACC would be dumb to stiff them totally.
