Thank you GOL

Sad to see him go this way but it had to be done. Thank you for your many years of service, O' Leary! This one negative year wont make me forget all the positive ones you brought to UCF.

Sad to say happy to see him resign now instead of at the end, but I never thought we'd ever get a Fiesta Bowl win- and will never forget that great year. THANKS. Also happy to hear who the interim is supposed to be. "Haters" is such a middle school girl word, I prefer "whiners". I guess it's better to resign than to be fired.

Thank you GOL for the good, the great, the bad, and the effing ugly you did for the UCF Football program! #OnceaKnightAlwaysaKnight #UCF

He brought us a Fiesta Bowl win, his players graduate and never get into trouble. He put UCF on the map and deserves nothing but our thanks. I hope we name the field after him someday.

Not sad at all to see him go. It was time, even Ray Charles could see O'Leary wasn't going to be back next year. But he had some nice years here. The fiesta bowl will always be remembered by UCF fans.

Hopefully the next coach will have more pull when it comes to recruiting Florida and we get a 21st century offense.

Thank you GOL. Coach K brought us to the next level, and GOL moved us to the next. Can't deny the positives he brought to the program, facilities, etc.
I can't wait to see UCF move forward again with a new coach.

It was time. Glad he did the honorable thing, taking the cue from Spurrier and getting out of the way for the good of the program. Thanks for the memories, GOL. They weren't always pretty, but we had some good times. Let's hope the next regime takes the ball and keeps running.

Much appreciation, took the team and program to new heights, hopefully we can find someone who will take us even further.

Cool Thread. Go O'leary! I hope he writes an autobiography. I'm sure he has a ton of stories and is pretty entertaining speaker.

Wow, an end of era for UCF.

Thanks Coach Oleary for all of your hard work and efforts toward winning with class over the past 12 years. The foundation you and your staff laid will always be here. Enjoy the sunsets in Georgia. CHARGE ON

Yesterday's game was ugly, but I'm glad I got to see his last game in person. It's the end of a fun rollercoaster ride era.

Lol at the GOL huggers. Where will they be now that he's gone? I'm a fan of the program but a hater because i was sick and tired of seeing UCF stuck in a rut, paying our coach tons of money while other programs do the same with less or pass us by. I'll be certainly looking forward to a new day. I cant help but think certain posters wont post as much since they could be losing their jobs.*

Yesterday's game was ugly. A blowout on homecoming spelled the end. Glad that he didn't let this linger on.

Thanks for the the memories! 0-8 can't destroy all of that.

The Liberty and Fiesta Bowl wins, the Hail Mary, and Kevin Smith's amazing season.

That said he has been the only organized coach the program has ever had. He brought the definition of college football to UCF. I really wished better for him after the Fiesta Bowl but hopefully the next coach will do what he couldnt.

Anyways salute to - formerly the most interesting coach in the world, 2013 - the worlds greatest show on college turf, 2013 Fiesta Bowl champ

I doubt that you will read this, but if you do; Thanks coach, and best of luck. You were good for UCF and set a high bar for your successors. I hope whoever follows you will continue your ways of making an education and character building the most important aspects of the athletes' time as Knights.

I also thank GOL for pushing the UCF administration to commit to On Campus Facilities. His influence got UCF to finally invest, now the Program has an On Campus Stadium on a Beautiful Campus that hopefully will continue to receive upgrades

That started with Orsini, not O'Leary, who was also a Orsini hire.

Glad it's over finally and sending (soon) idiot Key away. Very telling that they leapfrogged over Key and Bresnahan to Barrett for interim. Many good times with GOL...but many not so good as well.

GOL huggers have no idea how well UCF would have been without him as neither do I. He was a known name for better or worse which gave UCF exposure they lacked. Some give him credit for the stadium but I think the stadium was in the works before he was hired. His play calling was predictable and his 3rd quarter adjustments were pathetic. He never accepted blame for anything. For me UCF football succeeded despite his coaching inadequacies. I am happy to see him go and look forward to a new chapter in UCF football. This is my own personal opinion and I know many alumni loved him. I know many alumni that are happy to see him go and may now come back to support UCF football.

I personally wouldve went with Bres. Hes only been here a year.
Danny Barrett comes across as someone that can be rallied around...and thats not good if you want to move away from the GOL era. Maybe if our next coach fails perhaps he gets interviewed then.

Thanks GOL for all you did for UCF football and the University sports facilities.

Key getting leapfrogged speaks volumes. Just a matter of time. Hitt is smart and Key is done if he doesn't accept a lesser role.
