Ari….I see 45 million positives starting on July 1st. CTFO!!!’

One positive: Scott Frost isn't the worst coach in the Big 12.

15. Scott Frost (UCF)

Career record: (35-38)

Frost's first tenure in Orlando was fun and all, but this is a different beast. We saw how bad it went at Nebraska, and while I don't expect it to be that dreadful, I don't see this second tour being as friendly.

16. UCF
Scott Frost’s tenure at his alma mater (Nebraska) didn’t work out, but a return to familiar surroundings in Orlando where he led UCF to a 13-0 record in 2017 could be what both sides need. The Knights hope to climb up the Big 12 standings in ‘25 and beyond, while Frost has the potential to rebound in a lower-pressure situation.

Frost and offensive coordinator Steve Cooper have work to do in order to get UCF’s offense among the best in the Big 12. The quarterback battle between Cam Fancher, Tayven Jackson, and Jacurri Brown will continue into the fall, with Jackson holding a slight edge. The receiving corps and offensive line are both in major rebuild mode, but the running back group is solid with Myles Montgomery and Jaden Nixon.

With only three starters back, it could be tough for UCF’s defense to significantly improve on last year’s defensive output. In Big 12 play, the Knights gave up 31.3 points a contest and finished 91st nationally in pass defense success rate. The strength of the ‘25 unit is up front with Malachi Lawrence and Nyjalik Kelly leading the way. Expect transfers to bolster the linebacker and defensive back units.

One positive: Scott Frost isn't the worst coach in the Big 12.
That is one of, if not, The Worst HC Conference Rankings I've ever read!!!

Mike Gundy, OSU #1 ??? Are you kidding me??? Mind-boggling. The author must be Rip Van Winkle.

Rich Rodriguez, WV #5??? Where did this gem come from???

Kenny Dillingham, ASU, #8??? Guess I must have dreamed that Ariz St. was picked LAST and won the conference last year.

Lance Leipold, KU # 9??? Another head-shaker.

Joey McGuire, TT #12??? Yeah, this bottom-feeder coach's team is only one of the favorites to win the league.

Deion Sanders, CU #13??? In what bizarro-universe is Coach Prime the league's 13th best HC? I may not like the guy, but where the hell was CU before he came along?

I’m not a huge Sanders fan either but he does get more wins than expected. Gundy hasn’t been a good coach in a few years. Has to be an OSU fan that made this.
No fooling, BlakNGoldAllDay. The Cowboys were 3-9 overall last season and...winless in the conference!!!! Even Malzahn was better than that. But we're to believe Gundy is the Number One Coach in the Conference while Kenny Dillingham who took last place Arizona State to the title is...8th best?

Total Garbage

This might be the most negative offseason I remember as a fan and it is especially weird when it follows a coaching change.
That’s because of the head coach who was hired…dude is literally coming off five losing season in a row and a tarnished reputation.

UCF commits are fair game and easily flipped. Frost’s brand holds no weight and he compiled a staff of rethreads…the only recruiter is Kenny Martin. Say what you want about Malzone but his commits were not easily flipped.

It’s because of the QB situation. No one knows at all what we have. And recruiting has been not so great. Recruiting will get back. Next year could change minds as well. If we do terrible we lose guys. If we win done we can get sone flips.
Forget about flips…it’s a new day in college football and for the most part kids stick to their commitment. Who is UCF going to flip?

The starting point are the players who took an official visit to the school. In UCF’s case…there’s no a lot of meat on the bone.

He is saying that if the offense and playcalling in particular looks good it could turn the tide in Recruiting for the next cycle.

Read it again. He’s taking about flips. He’s also the same guy that was trying to prop a total loser like D’Onofrio (by far the worst football coach to have EVER been employed by Miami football).

If Gus were still the head coach, people would be more optimistic.

there won’t be any major changes in the class but it isn’t impossible to have a few flips based on better than expected performance.

Cristobal has won 58% of hus games. There’s some bad coaches that won more. Richt and Manny Diaz to name 2.

His recruiting class was falling apart. Gus’s sell job wasn’t going to work at UCF going forward.
Falling apart? What are you talking about? Frost has copied Gus's sales pitch. Building and maintaining relationships with local high schools (1), recruiting transfers from the Orlando area (2), and re-recruiting locals who went elsewhere (3).

Did you suddenly get a case of amnesia??? Malzahn fired Roof after four straight losses and the all those star recruits started decommitting like crazy.
Frost and his staff can’t even keep the few recruits they get to stay committed. Dude has a bad rep and hired a coaches in similar situations. Only one recruiter in the entire staff: Kenny Martin.

Can't argue any that.

But Frost and his army of analysts are going to whip these scraps into Big 12 champs!

They don’t have money. Now the UCF silver tongues are saying that Frost doesn’t want to pay high school guys and wants to spend the money on proven portal players.

Good luck with all that. Getting a good player from the portal is CRAZY expensive.
