I'll miss this place. Was always a nice spot when I was in school to get a beer. Place brings back memories when we visit after a game. Wish they can keep places like this but its all about the $$$

Pollo Tropical by the Rec Center is a nice addition for that side of campus

This is kind of funny / sad. Just last night I heard from a knowledgeable source that wackadoos and toppers will be replaced by Chili's.

.......As a compromise, the trustees pledged to allow two local restaurants to remain in the Union.

So far, those two restaurants have not been chosen, according to spokesman Chad Binette.

A UCF news release said Chili's is scheduled to open later this year in the space where Wackadoo's is.

Other Union restaurants will include: Steak ‘n Shake, Which Wich, Panda Express, Huey Magoo’s, Qdoba and Café Bustelo.

A lot of people have some exaggerated memory's of wackadoo's in here. Their food is average at best and their service is terrible

Agreed. The service is horrendous.

Students have whined for years about how the now somewhat old UCF Student Union is too small to handle 63,000 student body...as the Student Union opened in 1997 when UCF had 28,000 students, especially in regards to handling lunch crowds.

Well, UCF is spending $17 Million to expand the Student Union which will more than double the available food seating from 350 to over 700 plus seats.

The revenue generated for UCF will go from $26 Million for the previous 10 years to approx $82 Million over the next 10 years...plus Aramark is paying UCF $14 Million for this deal...$$ needed to help expand the Student Union.

UCF is also building a new $3 Million food/dining facility next to the Rec Center that will be approx 4,000 sq ft and host Pollo Tropical and maybe another operation as well.

UCF Students were sent surveys asking for what type or name of restaurants they would like to see on-campus and those results were used in making these selections.
