When I first heard this yesterday, I laughed out loud and thought to myself, 'how fitting.'
I'm looking forward to having some competence back in the White House again. The funny thing is that the same posters here who defended this sh*t will be the same ones who on Day One of Biden being sworn in will breathlessly tell us his is the worst administration ever.

You know they screwed up because trump tweeted (and then deleted) to "shoe up at the 4 Seasons for a press conference". The actual 4 Seasons had to issue a correction.

I cannot stand mistakes like this...The guy who makes this decision makes 100,000 dollars or more.. What worries me is Secret Service knew it because they have to sweep it before. They never told him or organized area he would be at. This is bad . Shows weakness other countries could have attacked at this moment. No communication between Secret Service and him.
It was a mistake. They knew it at some point before the press conference ran. They could’ve postponed or someone else could’ve given the news from the WH or really anywhere. Yet they went ahead and did it where they did anyways. In a very blue collar place most national politicians would never be caught unmasked in. They didn’t call a lid and avoid the media. You can make fun of them and some of it is deserved. But just remember, it was the Trump campaign that held a press conference amidst the gritty reality of so much of America. That’s the crazy thing. The Democrats have labeled themselves as the party of working people because they are the party of unions and black religious leaders. But you look at the people that are part of the “Trumpists” and these are the working class people that would be members of the Teamsters and AFL-CIO and IBEW and so many other unions. Trump also made inroads with black men and Hispanics that no one thought possible. If the Republican Party was smart, they’d realize that Trump diversified the party and build upon that.

The reason I ask is because I've never seen a CEO fired for a failed press conference before unless it was a big launch of a product and the company's stock tanked because of it. Working in very large companies in the past, the CEO might fire the person who scheduled the press conference. But never have I seen the weight come down on one because of the mistake of someone far below them that didn't result in legal or financial catastrophe.
From the people that you quote in your posts and your opinions on business, it appears that you have 3 degrees in engineering and an academic's viewpoint of the world. It doesn't feel like you've worked at any level of authority within companies of any size that have CEOs nor does it feel like you've been responsible for organizations of people that you cannot directly manage on any given day.
