The New Ghostbusters . . . How Bad Will It Be?

People will try and claim that criticism of the new Ghostbusters flick is based somehow on sexism, but that’s just a cop-out for bad casting and an even worse script.

I just happened to see a bundle of both movies on blueray plus digital copy at Best Buy yesterday for $15 so I went ahead and bought it. I own both original movies in every single format.

The new movie will be shit. Not because the actors are women, but because they're shitty thespians.

Yes, that's one thing that definitely gets lost along the way. An all-female cast would have been fine if two of main characters had the last names of Venkman and Spengler. There you could have connected the past to the present by having Oscar (the baby from Part 2) all grown up and visiting his "little sis" or acknowledge Harold Ramis' death by having Egon's daughter wanting to "make dad proud."

But noooooo; we get THIS instead.

The fact that they're promoting the hell out of it more than a month in advance tells me it's shit. It's one thing to have trailers on TV, but have the co-branding sponsors dump their spots that early is very telling. Going to be a Leonard Part 6-esque failure.

Cant improve on the original. Would be like trying to remake Caddyshack. Those movies were lightning in a bottle. New Ghostbusters gonna be horrific. Will not watch.

This. I refuse to watch remakes in general. When I have made exceptions, I've been disappointed in the results. I refuse to watch the remakes of Point Break, Total Recall, and this because there's really no way that you can make it better.
