The next Head Coach better bring back UCF Fast...

That is what I want back the most, our identity.

Gus did away with what Frost and Heupel built.

I want to see consistent passing down field that opens up the running game, not the other way around.
Hurry to line and tire out their defense. Gus went slow and made changes. Often late in play clock. Then got mad when defense changed personnel too.

Its usually hard to have a strong defense with an uptempo offense, but I pray the new staff has some life on defense. Its been what a decade since we've had a semblance of a stout defense?

You have to rotate all of your guys. Can’t play the same 14 guys all game. 24 defenders should play every game. Don’t use fatigue as an excuse. Play more guys.

I don't want what Heupel was doing when he was here....just 3-4 plays with zero time between snaps, that was gimmicky crap that we all hated at the time.

All we need is a bend but don't break defense that gets timely turnovers, such as our 2017 defense.
If I have an issue with Danny it was that he hired a DC before the HC I understand y (recruiting) but he was horrid He corrected that mistake at Tennessee

Personally, I want to see UCF get several big guys on the OL. I feel that we need that to compete over the entire season. We need a good S&C Coach too. Someone who can help condition the team, get them big, get them ready for the season, and work to keep injuries away.

I want to see a strong passing game and I want to see a decent running game. UCF has always had great RBs, we just need to have a good OL and a tough QB that can throw.

GOL was defense first, Frost was big on the option, Heupel was fast/no huddle, and Gus had no identity here. He started out wanting to run with 2 NFL style QBs, then he got his QB here where he did OK, and JRP's replacement was a bust (couldn't run or pass).

I loved when frost threw in the option! Most of the time it works (if not run all the time but practiced well) JMHO

The reason these fast offenses worked for us is bc we play in humidity. Running tempo always wore down opponents with frost/heupel. Gus pretended to have tempo but with his endless substitutions he was running a GOL offense
Gus was going slow on purpose. The players were ready. He didn’t want to get 50 scored on him so he went slow. Even when down 20.

GOL was at his best when he controlled the clock against up tempo teams. I don’t mind UCFast, but you also have to be able to slow it down. I always hated watching a three and out that takes thirty seconds off the clock when the defense was just on the field for ten minutes.

I have to admit that getting Chadwell and his QB in the transfer portal would be a step up after this season.
The transfer QB could help train the new QBs (and other offensive players) on the new offense and Chadwell
could probably salvage a good recruiting class for UCF this month. I like the fact that Chadwell isn't an
old recycle HC.

The QB at Liberty isn’t good. We have three or four better QBs already. Chadwell’s offense isn’t groundbreaking, so we wouldn’t need him to explain it.

SCOTT FROST FACT: During his four-plus seasons as head coach at the University of Nebraska, Scott Frost's teams lost many close games, including 22 one-score games and 12 games by five or fewer points

Our next HC will have to reconcile UCF 's relationship with the local high school coaches. Get back to scouting, player development and game planning. Malzahan and his coaching staff were dependent on the transfer portal too much and I believe that upset so many high school coaches in Orlando, Tampa and space Coast area.

has UCF ever had a great relationship with local coaches? i remember when Apopka wouldn't send a player UCF's way. all those coaches are of the opionion that if FIU can offer then so can UCF. i thought we were doing fine with local recruiting under Malzahn.
