Sorry anti-vaxxers. You can’t win this

FDA approval of the Pfizer “death” vaccine” is expected within 2 months. That’s the day @UCFBS has a meltdown

Have fun getting COVID and it’s variants forever.

“The Flu” 😂😂😂😂😂

Why are you so worried about someone getting or not getting the covid shot? Over half of the Florida adults got the shot and we are nearing peak levels in Florida of cases. The sun is still rising each morning though.

Dude. I have and will continue to do more than you since the pandemic,, so why even go there?

You can’t win this. Ultimately, you will lose. There’s a virus that’s more deadly than the flu. Then you have the media, government, and history. All things that you cannot control.

We have vaccines and sooner or later, COVID or a variant is going to make you sick OR you’re going to need a vaccine passport for certain events or the airlines

Anti-vaxxers are going to lose this battle.

I don't think there are many anti Vaxers, There is likely 10% or less against vaccinations. But people have to make a decision on whether or not they want this one. I took it, but have no problems with some one who doesn't. If a young healthy person doesn't take it, I totally understand, If a parent doesn't want their 10 year old taking it who is at almost 0 risk, I understand it. Those who already had covid and still most likely have antibodies I under stand.

Bottom line this is still an experimental drug that we have a decent idea of short term effects, but as a new type of drug never used before we have no experience of long term problems.

Any drug approval gets tracked with long term side effects. Likely none, but it is experimental in that regard.
It’s not a drug. This just tells me that you guys don’t have enough medical knowledge to continue these conversations. Tell me about the mechanism of action of mRNA vaccines

For the record you don't know if I already had the vaccine or not. I'm certainly not going to make a big deal about it if I got it. It's a personal decision especially while it's in clinical trials.
So... you’re an ant-vaxxer that got the vaccine. You’re not scared of COVID, but were vaccinated. Golden

There is zero chance I vaccinate my kids under 12 that is for sure.

Random note. Over the last month covid cases in Seminole County are up 500%.
Rational Floridians: Up 500%? We need to do a better job of getting the unvaccinated in Seminole County vaccinated!

KNIGHTTIME: Up 500%? I told you all those covid vaccines aren't working!!!!

Lol...I'm sure you have extensive knowledge over the vaccine vis Youtube. 😉 Everyone knows the basic functions of the covid mrna vaccine. I'm not sure why you're acting like that.
Lol. It’s obvious that you don’t.

I work in the medical field and don’t look at YouTube videos. We had good interactions in the past, but in regards to COVID cases rising, the threat of restrictions (not necessarily in Florida), mandatory wearing a mask 50 hours a week, due to a lack of vaccinations, we aren’t going to see eye to eye on this topic

Two people I know got two shots of the pfizer vaccine, but got covid. They had pretty minor illness though. It was sold as 95% effective.
Clearly it's not. It's probably better than nothing, but we just don't know enough at this point to make claims of efficacy and how long the immunity lasts.

This thread is a good example of why some people are afraid of false information flooding social media.
Very true. There are people saying that we know everything there is to know about the virus and the vaccines. That is clearly misinformation.

mRNA technology is still in the proof of concept phase. Technically that does mean it's still experimental.
Can’t argue with stupid

And when it’s approved in 2 months are you going to delete or edit all your idiotic posts over the past several months?

No. Then it will be approved so we can say it isn't experimental anymore. We still won't know everything there is to know about it, but at least there will be a level of verification to lean on. With any amount of luck, it won't be another VIOXX deal.

Not FDA approved is not the same as experimental. That’s how morons think. That terminology as a comparison is idiotic

OK. When did mRNA technology stop being experimental? When did it first have verifiable success that outweighed the risks?

What risks?
Whatever risks or side effects that kept it from coming to market til now. We know they've been trying to make this work for 20 years but never were able to get one approved. IDK what more to tell you.

Uhhhh. When like 1 billion billion people have been vaccinated over 6-7 months and there haven’t been any long-term side effects.

Uhhhh. When it went through trials.

Duh..

What’s the risk of not getting it? Ask 4 million caskets

You can’t be this dumb. You’re just looking for attention again now

We now need to convince CrazyAhole to NOT GET VACCINATED. We need Darwinism to take out the stupid people in this world

mRNA= Killer “drug”

Please @Crazyhole don’t get vaccinated

When did 6-7 months become the definition of "long term"?

I am not antivacine ,I am pro vacine. I am pro science . The mRNA stuff is really gene therapy though and not a true vacine . My thing is this. Those of us with the vacine are safer from getting it and safer from transmitting it. If we are around those of us who are not vacinated then the likelihood of either getting it from them or transmitting it to them is very low.

in populations where you get half or more vacinated and then you got all those that had it and have natural antibodies then the likelihood of getting it is low. At some point it doesn't matter if folks don't get it
It's on them. At no point do I support vacine passports or the government having access to my health records . That's another can of worms .

Then you have circumstances where. there are legitimate medical concerns between the doctor and patient and it's none of anyone's business. period. My son is severely disabled with significant brain trauma . I am on the fence with him and have an appointment to talk the doctor about it. My son has not had the DPT vacine be sure it does have seizure and other risks in people with neurologically compromised. His doctors and I as his parent made these choices based on risks which are significant for my boy.

The problem is how to evaluate risks and fast tracking these things can lead to unintentional consequences. I am not going virtue signal or socially shame anyone for evaluating the risks for their own lives here. I am one of 6 kids. Three of my siblings had Covid and none of them were hospitalized. None had anything more than a fever for a day and it came and went in a few days. Covid is real and it does kill medically compromised people. The vacines are real and while death rates are very low , people have died from the vacine. Thousands have died.

So while it's great to take the high road I can't roll that dice for anyone else but me. I am posting a link to vacine deaths through the years. In the 70s the government freaked out over the swine flu and vacinated tons of people . People died and many got Gillian bare syndrome ( my spelling could be off). The government ceased the program . it's an interesting medical scientific paper published before Covid so there is no politics in it. Just science .

We should listen to a guy who can’t spell VACCINE not once, not twice, but. 8 times!! Can’t spell Guillain-Barré syndrome or SEIZED.

GTFU of here with your illiterate anti-vaxxer no fact rant. No freaking credibility. You probably haven’t graduated high school and have zero teeth

Oh, now you've done it.
Prepare for the 4 page report he is about to write.

to our resident anti vaxxers would u be ok with our QB and major players missing the Cinci game which UCF loses if they are unvaccinated and their luck runs out dodging this thing ?

yes there are chances of ‘breakthrough infections’ but it would be much less likely with 2 Pfizer shots

This is a remarkably egotistical premise.

it is a numbers game

you know college football fans . A star player missing a big game bc of a knee or hamstring injury is going to have a different reaction than Covid when they had months to get vaccinated

Ok. I am beat. You're a doctor . Can you be my doctor.
Graduated UCF 1992 with a degree in biology. Graduated from FSU with a degree in Environmental Planning and Resource Management. Made Dean's list the last 6 semesters at UCF and had a 3.5 at FSU. I have had 4 semesters of chemistry, physics , microbiology, cell physiology and genetics . Yep, I hate vaccines because I don't know nothing about that new fangled thing called science . witch craft is the way to go here.

My spelling sucks brother . you got me there or is it their . the one thing I don't do here or anywhere on the internet is attack people. I will debate ideas but you're likely a nice guy and I agree with some of your premises. I never said I was antivaxer. I never said I didn't get it nor will I tell anyone whether I did it or not. Have a great weekend . I have most of my tooth. it's hanging on a by a thread. I need to go wash my roof of my single wide now.
