The pandemic of the “unvaccinated” who love to prolong pandemics and post Twitter and Google articles without actually reading them

to our resident anti vaxxers would u be ok with our QB and major players missing the Cinci game which UCF loses if they are unvaccinated and their luck runs out dodging this thing ?

yes there are chances of ‘breakthrough infections’ but it would be much less likely with 2 Pfizer shots

If the players medical advice from their doctor for what ever reason says don't get the shot ,it's none of my business. It's not yours either. I care more about their health than any game. Life is not fair and people do get sick after being vacinated and some have died. This thing isn't perfect. It's not risk free.

Graduated UCF 1992 with a degree in biology. Graduated from FSU with a degree in Environmental Planning and Resource Management. Made Dean's list the last 6 semesters at UCF and had a 3.5 at FSU. I have had 4 semesters of chemistry, physics , microbiology, cell physiology and genetics . Yep, I hate vacines because I don't know nothing about that new fangled thing called science . witch craft is the way to go here.
This reminds me of those employees of a Houston HOSPITAL who refused Covid-19 vaccinations. You'd think people like this would know better.

I know several doctors who have privately shared their concerns with me. I think part of you guys problem is fear and risk assessment. It's not easy saying hey stick me and roll the dice especially if there are other risks involved. I had a dear friend who was a nurse at Florida Hospital in the 90s. She got stuck with a needle from a HIV positive patient. The hospital put her on some HIV drug. Within a year she was on permanent disability .It caused neurological issues ..She faints at random times. can't drive
can't be on her feet for more than an hour without fainting. The drug ruined her life . so,yah you would think doctors and nurses would just sign right up . Again , you assume too much about me. never said I was antivaccine .

I am puzzled by one thing, Chemmie, Shuck , UCfmikes...if y'all don't like conservatives and their ilk and you assume they all hate vaccines ( another one for you UCfmikes) why do you care if they get sick and some die? clearly you're vaccinated and you're good to go. Why does it drive you guys Covid bat crazy what other people don't do or do here ? gentleman, science says you're good. You can't get it you won't transmit and if you do get it you're likely not going to die. I don't get your obsession here? Again, I am not antivaccine. I am pro vaccine for those who it doesn't pose risks too. help me understand your view point. I am being sincere .

Your question speaks volumes about people who think the way you do. My experience is that these folks generally don’t think outside themselves most of the time.

It's a sad but simple truth that a lot of people filter their world through their ego, meaning that they think about most things in terms of “me” or “my”.

Believe it or not, Nautiknight, there are empathetic and kind-hearted people in this world who care about others. It's why you see so many people step-up and volunteer their services to help total strangers when there's a natural disaster or other tragedy.

Who is "anti vax"? I simply state its a personal decision. If Gabriel didn't want to get the vaccine, it is none of your business. Do you run around shaming people not getting the flu shot?

I know personally a couple that got covid just last week after getting both pfizer shots and 2 months after the 2nd shot. The symptoms were light though.
I have no idea if Gabriel is vaccinated and am not shaming anyone . The difference between the flu and this is COVID is WAY MORE contagious. But athletes should be about prevention not reaction and you are delusional if you think if that hypothetical played out how fans would react . U are bringing up statistical anomalies, we have real world examples of what happened in other counties with lower vax rates

I’m a conservative and I don’t want to keep seeing people get sick, die, and have restrictions again. I don’t want my business to suffer again, have to wear a mask on planes and at football games. Additionally, I’M STILL required to wear a mask 50 hours a week

Yout really should work on the grammar and spelling. A few mistakes are fine, but geez dude

You mean like when I took 4 days off and went to west Louisiana and east Texas with my skiff to join the Cajun Navy and help people after Harvey?

Or ,how about the time I donated a couple weeks time and several hundred dollars worth of gift baskets to a charity auction to raise money for the people of the Abacos after they got devistated by Hurricane Dorian.

Or, what about that time I served on the Board of Directors for the Conklin Center for the multi handicapped Blind in Daytona Beach where for years I donated time in my cabins and help them raise well over $15,000 over the course of a decade..

Or what about the time before Covid I donated over $2,000 in chocolate to a local organization called the Richie Alliance where you bought a ticket for this food event and they raise money to support special needs kids in Haywood County.
Or, how about the time for two years I both volunteered my time and gave over $4,000 to our high schools FRC Robotics team?
Or what about all the money for the past decade and half I pumped into Jackson County schools for PTA, Marching Band ,special education. and perfoming arts . I contributed over$25,000 to my school district to help kids , special needs kids and support the arts and sciences.
How about the times when strangers walk into my business and need a gift basket or gift card to support an auction for a stranger I do not know who is suffering from cancer?
maybe you're talking about how I support the local food bank with their big fund raising event where I provide every year free of charge over a $1,000 in chocolate for the desert. Maybe you could also be wondering about my donations to habitat for humanity? I am trying to figure out how selfish I have been..

I sincerely wanted to know about your position and what I get is name calling and suggesting how selfish I am, a pro vaccine guy who loves science and has questions.

I don't use my computer anymore. part of it is I type all this wonder and amazement on a 5 inch phone. lol. I know my spelling sucks. I apologize it's annoying. I appreciate the tip .

Hey, no need to get defensive. You were the one who couldn't understand why I would care about others I didn't know.
I like you Shuck . I appreciate Chemmie and everyone here . I like debating ideas different than my own. I took it as if you were implying that I was selfish. I truly believe we are all put here to serve one another during our short time on the earth. We all have talent and gifts to help someone else out.

I am not antivaccine. I can still question the side effects, science and deaths from said vaccines. anyway, I appreciate your view point and feed back .

Thanks, I appreciate your approach to posting too. This is the kind of exchange that I come to the WC for. Too bad it tends to be the exception rather than the rule.

You certainly have the right to question the vaccines, but why??? When nearly half the country still haven't taken their shots, it only serves to bolster peoples' reservations at a time our country desperately needs to ratchet up the vaccination numbers. Any potential side-effect pales in comparison to the dangers of being unvaccinated.

As it is, we're likely to go through yet another spike in infections once winter rolls around again. It's incredibly frustrating and ridiculous when we're so close to seeing the pandemic come to an end.

As every day, week, and month passes, the “experimental vaccine with unknown side effects” becomes incredibly annoying. It’s the view of the uneducated, brainwashed and/or ignorant. You don’t have to simply have things out there a long time to know if it will have long-term side effects

I say that I know something about the vaccine, but the people who “invented” it and were involved in the research can feel free to call me an idiot, because that’s how much more knowledge they have than the somewhat knowledgeable

In addition to the rigorous testing these vaccines went through before receiving approval, we've had over 136 million Americans vaccinated since then.

I'm certainly no authority on the subject, but it sure seems to me that kind of number makes these vaccines among the most heavily-tested drugs in our history.

Shuck, I think part of it is I am a skeptic, I am curious and my science background. I question a lot and it's not that I don't trust it . It's the political noise generated by it all. I swear the worst time ever for a pandemic to strike us is during a Presidential election year. it's ruined trust .

The other thing is this. Two of my kids have neurological issues. I am Somewhat jaded and gunshy about drugs of all types. My one son is epileptic. Collapsed on the PE field with full blown grand Mal seizures. He was 12. It took 4 years of trial and error with drugs . He was on depikote for a couple years it ruined his short tem processing. it screwed up his memory and he was in a fog..Every month he had a liver panel to do. He lost two years of high school learning straight up. Side effects of depikote including heart failure, kidney failure and liver failure, suicide .

My other boy had seizures as a result of the brain damage from meningitis. He was on two seizure meds one was at 1500 mg and the other 2500 mg a day. He was a zombie kid. again heart, liver and kidneys all potentially harmed. We eventually got him to Shands and off the drugs and onto the Ketogenic diet for epilepsy.

I have for 22 years now walked a path of a lot of doctors ,a lot of medication and a number of surgeries. I have spent weeks upon weeks in hospitals for my boys.

So, when we develop vaccines my inclination is to research side effects and risks. It's what I do and it's what I have had to do for the last 22 years for my kids. It's not political for me at all. It's what are the risks of the virus to my kids, what's the risk of the vaccines and what are the knowns they are telling us. I don't know what I don't know ,but I am provaccine and very much proscience and pro pharma. Without seizure drugs my youngest could be dead from epilepsy. That's the truth of it. He is stable because of drugs and the drugs are not 100% safe by any means, but they are working for him and he is in college because of it.

I wish we could stop demonizing people especially judging them by how they vote regarding this pandemic. I too had my business closed for 16 weeks. I invested several thousand dollars in UVB light and HEPA air filtration for my stores to help protect my crew and guests. We wore masks dilligently and minimized guest contact of surfaces. I took pride in our efforts to protect our crew and our guests. I don't want to go through that again. I also believe folks should get the vaccine and some folks need to research it a bit more . The government needs to be crystal clear transparent with it and I mean all of it from every side effect including deaths and empasize ultimately this is a choice you and your doctor need to make. The number one thing for improving rates is transparency to build trust . Arguing on the internet and calling those folks who have not done it yet derogatory names isn't the solution to get us to 75%. I genuinely enjoy the debates but make no mistake about it , none of you guys or the government will influence my decision to vaccinate my 22 year old disabled kid. That's between me and his neurologist and primary care doc. That's how it should be and I don't hate you guys if I chose not to get Kyle vaccinated. I love my son dearly and his medical issues will drive the choice here. I am looking out for him.

I am sorry for my crappy spelling and marginal grammar at times. Anyway, that's why I am like I am on this issue .

If people really cared about the health of football players, they would want the game banned.

That's great news. It's a real tribute to your son, his doctors, and especially, his parents.

Hearing your story, it sounds like we're a heck of a lot more in-sync on this topic than we are at odds. All drugs have their side-effects and some can be dangerous, particularly if not taken properly. It's always important to be careful about any drug and monitor its side-effects. But thanks to modern medications and vaccines, people are living healthier and longer lives. We just need to be smart about them. IMHO, taking one of the covid-19 vaccines is smart.

Because even with the damn vaccine, it can still keep passing. F*ck. Why are y'all so thick skulled? It isn't a 100% cure-all, but it is the best we have as long as more people get the damn vaccine and stop passing the damn virus around. Why is this shit so damn hard to understand?

^^^^^more God complex BS.

Who here still feels like we are in a covid emergency?

We are certainly going in the wrong direction. I dont know whether I would describe it as an emergency at this point, but it could very well get there. Less than a month ago we were averaging about 11,000 new cases a day. Now we are about around 26,000.

Try 52,000 cases. Yes, we were much higher around 9 Jan. before Dr. knighttime autistically
screams.

So at what point would you definitively say it's not an emergency?

You're just making up more Biden level stupidity. I said cases are going way up the last month as more people are vaccinated. That has to be a stomach punch to the current regime. Cases in Seminole County are up 500% as vaccinations are going higher.

Orange county advised mask indoors or outdoors for vaccinated folks again. 🤔
Variants, dummy and antivaxxers like yourself. Stick to coloring books and adding/subtracting single digits.

The numbers are way higher. My example of two fully vaccinated parents wouldn't of been tested because they had light symptoms but their 20 something year old kid had symptoms. They wanted to be tested for whatever reason.
^^^^^a 3rd grader wrote this shit.

I dont know, but obviously steep increases arent good.
So, I'm not directing this at you, but I am a little bit concerned about the moving goalposts. It seems to be more than a little bit dangerous to just allow the term "emergency" to be a subjective term when dealing with government authority.

Do you scream "variants" in a high sequel? Or scream "variants" from your prius with your double mask.🤣

You have no idea if I even took the vaccine. It is a personal decision that I can care less saying either way. Care even less who else is vaccinated or not. The one thing I care about is a public admission to the origins of covid. Our regime is too spineless for that.
High sequel? Dummy.

Can care less? That means you do care. Open a book that doesn’t have pictures in it every now and then.

I’ve read enough of your bullshit over the past 6 months to know damn well you haven’t gotten one.

You’re kind of an embarrassment.

Live feed of Joe driving around town. Probably to the donut shop. 🐋

I haven’t worn a mask in months. That’s the lovely luxury of being vaccinated. Can’t remember the last time I bought a donut off you while you were working counter.

Lol...whatever pandemic man. You're clearly bent of shape if someone gets the vaccine or not. You have no idea if I'm vaccinated or not. You have zero response for cases going up while vaccinations are also rising each day. But Hail Biden to you!
You’re. Not. Vaccinated. Stop playing this stupid game. I just gave you a response. Now, go paint by numbers or whatever it is you need to do to try to pass the third grade for the 7th attempt.

Good luck.

I have a degree from UCF so what does that say? I could retire at 45. Multiple technical certificates and licenses. Must be lucky. 😉

I wouldn't say either way if I got vaccinated for the record. I've already said it is looking more and more like it is safe. Need a lab created vaccine for a lab created virus.
Why are you playing games? Vaccinated or not?
