The person next up for Va Governor (Justin Fairfax)

Why do you care about a flag or some stone monuments?

When did I say I care? Personally I really couldn't give fewer fuks and have not called for their removal. I'm cool with people being reminded. In fact, I take everyone who comes to visit to see how beautiful the area is and I talk about how much the past adds to the culture of the city. But I live in this state and I WITNESS the wedge driven between people in this community due to these symbols and I realize how deep the scar is. Unlike you I take pride in understanding others and seeing things through various lenses. So if in fact I did "care" about a flag or some stone monuments it should be fairly fuking obvious to anyone with an ounce of humanity why that would be the case... unless of course you're just a total shit stain of a person.

I find it funny--though not surprising--that you choose to address me on this comment yet have not questioned anyone, in either this thread or the VA Governor thread, on why they would think blackface costume is racist. Why should a cloth or some paint bother anyone?? Oh wait . . you mean it's what they represent?!

i think they are good reminders of a past we dont want to see come back again. unfortunately there are people that still hold to those ideas. the good news i think is that we are moving away from that but it takes time. i think the flag today symbolizes more of a rebel spirit but obviously it has a very dark past and some still hold to that.

in time the dark side of the flag and statues will be pushed away but not soon enough for most people. time will heal the wounds. for as fast as time seems to move, it sure does seem to move slowly on things like this.

Move slowly? The war to end slavery and reunite the country only ended 154 years ago.

might be news to you but there was this thing called jim crow laws, the civil rights protests, and its pretty cool you might not believe it, but we landed on the moon.

something else that might blow your mind. this woman that claimed to be an indian and then used that lie to advance her career. well recently she admitted to lying about all of it. there were some people that vehemently backed her up and called people stupid for not believing her.

if the people that backed her and attacked others for not believing cant admit they were wrong, i guess its not surprise people in the south have taken so long to get over their racial prejudices.

maybe you could run? you dont have any white face pics in your hs yearbook do you? is that even a thing? lol

As a kid I once dressed up as a clown for Halloween... Does that count?

But either way I'm sure one of the bitter snow bunnies of my past will pop up out of nowhere so hard pass.

Justin Fairfax is asking Democrats for due process with two women accusing him of rape. I thought we need to believe all women. Due process now? Times have changed
When Kavanaugh was falsely accused of sexual misconduct several decades ago, leftist demanded he should step down.

Now how isn't that with 'Fair'fax?

Do liberals have different standards? Is it ok when Blacks rape?

Dems are total hypocrats, solely interested in destroying whites. White democrats are the worst enemies of whites.

Um, I didn’t single you out, you were the one that brought up stone monuments and the divide they cause. Should I get upset when I pass a Catholic Church due to the Spanish Inquisition? From where I stand, the confererate battle flag should cause me grief as well, pretty sure southern rednecks don’t like Jews either. Yet here I am, living in a state that was founded by the Spanish with Spanish forts and Spanish named cities and southern military monuments everywhere. I have no divide, no I’ll feelings, nothing. I feel this way because I know it’s history, not present.

Feel however you want, I don't give a shit. That's how this works.

So, after calling for him to resign just a few days ago, the VLBC is now pushing back on plans to impeach him (if he won't resign), indirectly making this a racial issue and not an issue revolving around a Lt Gov being accused of rape by 2 women with corroborating evidence.

Again, I have complete whiplash trying to keep up with the DNC view on believing women and/or when anyone should or shouldn't be held accountable for said women's accusations - with corroboration.

A Virginia state legislator who intended to begin impeachment proceedings against Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax backed off on Monday after African-American lawmakers demanded there not be a rush to oust Mr. Fairfax, who is black, over accusations of sexual assault while the state’s white governor and attorney general are refusing to resign after they admitted wearing blackface in their youth…

Members of the Virginia Legislative Black Caucus, who have been agonizing over what to do regarding all three of the state’s executives for over a week now, believe the claims against Mr. Fairfax should be litigated in a legal setting, not a political venue.

And they are furious at Mr. Hope over what they see as his haste and his making an already excruciating dilemma even more painful by trying to force them to take a public position on impeachment this week, according to a Virginia Democrat directly familiar with the call

First lady of Virginia Pam Northam handed cotton to young African-American children on a tour of the governor's mansion and asked them to imagine being slaves in the fields, the mother of one of the children alleged.

Why havent the antiracist leftists insisted that the governor step down yet?

lol no one has stepped down. Not the guy in blackface or in the KKK robes, not the guy who voiced support for infanticide, not the guy accused by multiple women of rape with actual corroboration, and not the 3rd guy who also admitted to wearing blackface.

They'll all just wait this out, Democrats will eventually learn to love them again once they make some grand worthless gesture to the hard left, and they'll all return to calling conservatives racist for everything/anything without even detecting the dripping irony.

I would need to see the specific context of the cotton. If they are handing out cotton as a visual aid, then that is normal. These racists Democrats have their own reasons though. ;)
