Including our winless season. What a clusterf%@$.
I can't tell ... yet.Not even close. Remember 0-18 or what ever it was. However, we are in for a long year.

Don't despair, you have at least one win against us ( usf) . You guys are young, it will probably get better.

I see 3 scenarios ...
Right now I'm hoping for a 2006 or 2008, but I'm prepared for another 2004 or even 1995. This could be one of the worst seasons since 1995, and possibly so even if we win 1-2.
- I see Holman come back, and win at least half of our conference games -- that would be like 2006 or 2008
- I see Holman come back, and we only win 1-2 -- that would be as bad as 2004, given the FCS loss
- I see Holman come back, and we don't win a game -- that would be worse than 2004, given the FCS loss, and like 1994-1995 ... where we lost to a lower division team too!
I agree. I have no idea why they were running the Wild Knight so sporadically as well. On one drive Harris or Schneider (I forget which) drove us down. We had that weird thing where we called a timeout. Then brought in the Wild Knight and got a yard or something like that, then called another timeout and brought in Harris/Schneider on 4th down. Why we didn't try a FG there baffles me as well. Maybe the new kid isn't that good but you have to get him some confidence, and eventually he will have to make FGs for us. We make that 40 yd FG or so, we might have won that game.Still a hugger, but the offense looks abysmal. There is no reason for us to be this bad. I understand that we are playing some young guys out there on offense, but they look terrible. The play calling is about what I expected when they announced Key would be the OC. Even when Paxton Lynch was a freshman at Memphis, they looked halfway decent at times, even gave us quite a scare. We look god awful. There seems to be very little creativity in the game plan, even for a GOL offense. Let's face it, we are probably the worst team in the American Conference without Holman. Hopefully he comes back sooner. It's nice to get the young QB's some experience, but from what I am seeing, they are not getting a chance to develop. Forget the Wild Knight. If we are using these games to develop the next QB, then freakin' develop them. I understand handing the ball off to the running backs as part of the game plan and trying to protect the young QB's as much as possible, but they need to keep the young QB's in there as much as possible to soak up as much as possible. To be honest, I don't care how many mistakes they make, as long as they are in there getting a chance to make those mistakes and having the opportunity to grow from them. Honestly, I am just at a loss for words right now. There is no way we should ever lose to a team like Furman, they even't aren't that good in there own conference. I say they should burn the redshirt at Hiers at center, if they haven't already, as long as he even looks like he can play. He has to be the starting center next year. Go with a youth movement and build for next year.

How is that "middle of the road"? I basically laid out 3 scenarios, none of them good.Hahahhaha way to me mr optimistic. How's that working out for you being so middle of the road?
To you "Garbage Men"? No. I'm not going to condone what you guys say about the coaching staff. A lot of it was uncalled for.Do you have anything to say?
Before all the injuries, yes. It was almost a stretch, but possible.Remember at the beginning of the season there was talk of "reloading not rebuilding"??
This game tonight was far worse than any of the 0-18 drought. #VeryConcerned
Just because we lost to Furman and could potentially have our worst season in 20 years doesn't men you "Garbage Men" are justified for what you've said and the attitudes you've taken. If this is how you react and treat people, rabid and piling on anything and everything that makes the whole program look bad, then you're still the worst examples of fans.

Holman is coming back and we're not going 0-12. Any wordYou don't see a scenario wherein Holman doesn't come back this year? I could easily see that happening.
20 years since we lost to an FCS (Division II) school . . . how sad.
I cannot in any way see how losing football games is good for fans of a team whose ultimate goal is to win football games. But I do agree that the fans have had unrealistic expectations lately (myself included). Given the lack of talent on this roster and also the absolute incompetence of the coaching staff (GOL aside) I have to believe this team will lose a lot in the next couple years. I really hope I am now just over reacting. But right now I am afraid I am justly pessimistic. It wouldn't be a stretch to argue that this might be the worst team in the country (FBS) without Holman. No one wants to lose this much but this year may be good for the fanbase. We have become too spoiled lately with success and this season is putting us back in our place. We are not a top notch program, there are very few of those and even some of them fall off. This is 18-22 year old kids, you can't expect them to be on the top of their game every week every year. There's also a lot of turnover with players and coaches each year. USC, UF, Texas have fallen down after being on top not too long ago, even Alabama is losing games lately. This is one down year in 4, that's not at all, as long as we don't have successive losing seasons the program will be in good shape. The fan base is fairly new and young, most have been around for only the good times, the 9nes who are older remember the real bad years and can take a losing season because we appreciate the winning ones, bowl wins and championship more.
