I would think the dems lose a lot more seats in both houses and the pipeline/fracking industry gets cranking again due to high prices. It would all balance out again eventually.

They will, no doubt. Just don't expect prices to come down all that much. We've got both supply and demand issues in the oil market right now and they are unlikely to go away just because there is a change in political parties in charge.
