I made a really long thread and don't want to retype everything so I'm gonna link the thread ( you don't need twitter to read it ) IMO, Tulsa came in defensively with pretty much the same gameplan they had last year and UCF still didn't quite have an answer for it.

thanks for the write-up (as always).
Seemed to me like they were able to win at the line 3v5 way too often. Allows the other team to commit more people to covering and smother passes.

ya, I think a lot of them winning was from coverage.. I chart snap to pressure/release times and for the most part, it wasn't a red flag. I think DG only got sacked once (might be wrong) but the Snap to pressure time was 3.777 which is an eternity. It just seemed like he only had 2 options on the play and Tulsa cut off both routes

IMO in pass pro, yes.. against the blitz was bad, only 6 plays tho (allowed 5 pressures)
vs 3 or 4 man rush they only let up 3 pressures that were quicker than 2.91 seconds. 1 of them was due to a completely wrong protection slide.

Run blocking, no but I think that was obvious.
