As UCF fans, we have to listen to a lot of nonsense from quote-un-quote
sports experts about our players.

I'm tired as this attached article states of people saying Perriman has bad hands or was
our number three receiver.

As the world saw yesterday, he was our home run / long ball receiver. I never
worried about him dropping these passes.

He dropped some of the zingers over the middle but that wasn't all on him. He also
made some good grabs on some of those zingers I might add.

Lastly, he has a large role he will fill in the NFL who regularly use 3 and 4 receiver sets.
They have slot receivers to catch the short passes and will use Perriman for the longer
yardage pass plays. His ability to fly on routes and jump for passes will serve him well.

Enough of the taking head nonsense! He should be a great ambassador for UCF in the NFL!

It's easier to repeat the same old crap that goes around than to actually research. Remember last year, Bortles couldn't move, only stayed in the pocket and wasn't accurate. It was especially funny at the draft where the talking head said, "He's a pure pocket passer and won't do much running," as the highlight video showed Blake running, extending plays, moving out of the pocket and hitting the WR. It's much easier in life to just repeat what others have said, especially when it's "just a G5 team".

Most people outside the UCF football community commenting on Breshad have maybe seen a game or two, highlight reels, stats, and other draft site commentary. It's so funny to see comments to the effect of him purely being a speed guy; I never saw Breshad that way at UCF. Some of the more prominent talking heads already had Breshad tabbed as a 1st round talent well before anyone dreamed he would run anything under a 4.5, so he must have shown them something more than speed on tape.

Most people on this board watched about every game Breshad played in at UCF. Yes, he had some frustrating drops (guess what, NFL receivers drop some routine balls now and then too). We know how many games he changed with explosive plays displaying soft hands, ball skills, and a physical style. NFL scouts will see that too. Come draft day we'll see what the true experts think of the tape Breshad put out there at UCF. In today's pass happy NFL he will go early.

I agree it is annoying. I always looked at him as a big physical receiver.

Here's another nonsense quote from an nfl.com article:

"The knock on Perriman is that he is not the hardest-working player, but he helped himself a lot at UCF's pro day and should be a low first-round to high second-round draft choice"

Really!!? I've never heard or seen this anywhere. It's like they're just making stuff up to sound informed. When they're just lying.

I don't care how hard a ball is thrown. As a WR if you get two hands on it, you catch it. Perriman is known to get a case of the drops every once in a while.

It's just some idiotic website trying to draw attention to itself. I'm not going to help them out any further.

+1 Let's not pretend BP is the end all, ball all WR prospect here guys. He did drop some easy passes that were on him. Yes Holman shotgunned them in there sometimes but you have to catch the ball.

That being said, I think "all these drops" is over stated by the writers and his ability to make the big play will help him immensely.

Especially since 95% or more of those writers maybe watched just a handful of Perriman's games over the last 3 years....but yes, Perriman has (like almost any WR) dropped what some might call "easy" passes (especially over the middle), but just going back to his Freshman season...when Blake threw him some high/outside sideline passes where only Perriman could catch it...and he did on multiple occasions, he certainly has "it" to make the big play (he's done it quite a few times) and I'm sure now that he will be in the pro's...where he can focus 100% of his time on his game, odds are he will only improve...

Now his improvement level will probably be dictated by if he is able to land on a team with a solid QB (hope its a team with a GREAT QB), who can place the ball where it needs to be most of the time...vs being stuck with an erratic QB who is not consistent...which won't help a young WR's confidence.

They always say these things about our guys. We heard it about Blake, hell yesterday I was watching the nfl network and they replayed the part where Blake was the first qb off the board and all of the commentators were shocked it wasn't Johnny Manziel, shows what they know. The jerk Chris Berman said there's an obvious talent gap when Torrel Troup was drafted by Buffalo. Personally, I never thought of Breshad as the speed guy that was always Rannel. I thought he was your mid level threat guy bc he was mostly sure handed. JJ was the check down/ possession guy cause he caught nearly anything thrown at him. Even speaking objectively, Breshad is a hell of a wr who has just as much talent and work ethic as any other top rated wr in this years draft.

One tired cliche (probably 1st stated by a coach who never was a WR) "if you get your hands on it, you should catch it" deserves another tired cliche - "the QB throws a catchable ball". Either no one knows what they're talking about, or it's not all on the WR.

A lot of it is noise in the system to get certain teams scared of choosing him so that he'll be available for their pick. Don't get mad about it, happens every year.

It's hard for me to get too mad about national news questioning whether or not one of our players is first round prospect. So much better than not being mentioned.

Exactly what "firm_bizzle" stated....

"A lot of it is noise in the system to get certain teams scared of choosing him so that he'll be available for their pick. Don't get mad about it, happens every year."

It happens every year with every player... Look at all the crap about the two top qbs..... people have stated so much crap about them you almost wonder why anyone would pick them... and yet they will both probably be taken in the top few picks....

....

I've also seen the "experts" praise players they know are crappy in hopes that the Raiders, Bengals or some other team with a bad front office pick them. It's a poker game.

I took a couple of friends to their first UCF football game this past season. After Breshad dropped a short pass, I told them that Breshad often drops easy ones but seems to always catch the difficult passes. Right on cue, he caught a bomb from Holman a play or two later that brought the crowd to their feet! I don't know how his NFL career will turn out, but I can't imagine too many other NFL prospects being better receivers than Breshad. He should go early in the second round if not the first round.
