Sock puppets are easy to determine -- and remove -- on a moderated fan board.

In the WC forum, there was a poster who got routinely banned every six months or so. All he did was respond by creating new identities. Brandon eventually gave up and let the troll run wild. It's one of the reasons that forum is worthless now.
