Is this really a generational gap issue?
The people who love the idea of playing UF, no matter the terms, tend to be younger and haven't experienced some of the cool road trips of yesteryear. They certainly weren't around for the 1999 and 2006 trips to Gainesville. Weren't there for games at Texas (2009), Ohio State (2012), Penn State (2013), etc. They didn't experience the home-and-home with Miami (2008-09). And probably not Michigan in 2016 either.
There hasn't been much in terms of memorable OOC games the past few years. Pitt/Maryland was okay, Stanford was on the decline, GT home game got canceled (though now it's back on the books). The UNC series (the first one) got completely obliterated due to hurricanes and COVID.
It seems this deal is more popular among younger fans (20s, early 30s?) and hated by those who are older (35/40 plus?).
Agree or disagree?
