Personally, whatever the law says they should pay. I wouldn't expect any sane person to willfully pay more than they have to.
I do think the tax code needs to be significantly simplified but I don't have the answer to how that get's implemented.
im more interested in the tax returns to see who he owes money to. I am sure if trump was doing anything illegal he would have already paid the price. But china and russia having leverage over him is certainly a cause for concern -- and something tax returns would divulge if they were there.

The Chinese don't need any further leverage- they already own a significant amount of US debt.
Trump got hit by AMT, which means our tax system actually worked. AMT hits many average people living in high-pay high-cost areas as well and most of the recent tax increases are on them.
Tell me this, where on a tax return does it show debt owed and to whom? Maybe I missed that day in financial accounting. The only thing you will get is something from the institution if you paid interest but I hardly doubt that some Russian government official is sending Trump 1099 from on his illegal debt.
Except the AMT does not work hits too many people. To hit a couple making $250,000 a year and treat them as if they made $2,500,000 is ignorant.

That is why I laugh at these morons that keep asking for his tax returns. Clearly they have never filled one out because if it is on his tax return and if it were illegal the IRS would have busted him long ago. I also laughed at the idiots that said he was not worth what he said he was and then asked for his tax returns. Tax returns don't show wealth, they show income. Too many fools on the left thinking they know what their talking about, much like Maddow who clearly had no idea what a tax return was all about.
FWIW, his debts "to the best of his knowledge" were disclosed on his FEC financial disclosure form. Even a 1040 wouldn't show where you owe money.
